Thats well into v7 sti money, and its still a bug eye. Im surprised they can still sell these things.

I could be swinging the legacy way at the moment, still cant make up my mind though.

V8 or moderate km v7 ie http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=362290583
in my opinion this is a tidy car ,and i would buy it if i didnt already own 1.
I would be going v8 for that money or paying a tiny bit more and getting a v9.
V7s should be 11-14k in my opinion. Theres so many blue ones, I certainly wouldnt pay good money for one.

V8 STi is a V7 STi with exterior facelift, Thunderbird 2 rear wing, V7 RA Spec C cams and twin scroll headers + VF37, hypereutectic alloy (rather than forged) pistons, new (and still ugly) steering wheel, softer wider seats.
V9 STi is a V8 STi with new stronger 5x114 hubs, wider rims, Spec C front suspension arms and geometry changes, facelifted interior, yaw sensing diff setup.
IMHO the one to get is a V8 STi Spec C if you want a blobeye. I wouldn't go for a plain V8 STi, as the V7 RA Spec C is a much better car from a performance standpoint (and you get used to the bugeye!). If you're not prepared to live with a Spec C and want more comfort/amenities, then I'd agree that for a bit more money the V9 STi is the way to go.
So v7 or v8? plain sti of course, im getting old and like the comforts.

The opotiki to gisborne gorge (140km) or the gisborne to napier road. Both plenty of corners and buggerall traffic. Great drives and long enough that you feel buggered at the end.

I know that road like the back of my hand (grew up in Wairoa). The layout is nice, but the surface is pretty s***. There are much better roads
Yes there are, but most arnt any where near as long or as traffic free plus actually have a destination at the end other than turn round and go back the other way

And noones mentioned the best roads around coromandel peninsula, amazing views and mint drives...and i get to drive them heaps for work yusss haha
Also yeah koom clints mums house has some mint roads around it haha

failed my first wof with new(to me) Sti :
chip on windscreeen (yeah i knew that would fail )
rear pads below min
rear tyres (sidewalls) damaged from scraping
rear tyres scraping, even though its certed for the height and it hasn't scraped once since I have owned it...only the front. its obvious that the tyres were damaged maybe by previous owner over loading when moving house or something. Still he wants me to raise the rear.
this is all after having the car inspected by Armstrong Subaru a month ago.
baaaahhhhh :

Im sure he cant make you raise the car because of a wof check... its up to the cert guy to decide if its good enough to get a cert or not...
A wof guy cant "make" you do anything. But he can not give you a wof if yours cars unsafe, what you do about it is up to you.

Whats a 1999 v5 type r worth? Just curious about mine.
I think the kms are the killer on your ra, if it was at 110 or so you would probably get ten, but I really think yours is around the 8500-9 mark, but only cause its got nice bits and pieces.

Fixed my boost problem, bugger me its quick Will be off to dtech at some stage to put it on his dyno.

Stira your car looks mint...Come for a drive up these ways before you sell it...Would be good to go for a coupe ride for old times sake !!

maybe you can help him sort out his boost tap, he cant seem to get it working properly
im sure i could if he came my ways haha long way to drive to fix a boost tap but id be happy to help lol
I is feeling retarded over the ffiing boost tap. Have listed the car on tm, thinking of trying something newer v8 or v9 for the four doors and softer ride for the kids. May even be able to get one to tow my boat on occasion.
I may be up that way in a couple of weeks or so, ill see. Its only running just over 10pound of boost at the moment, and is pretty quick so another 6 pound or so will be big giggles.

Volk racing something or others, really light as well.

Thinking about getting one of these, is there any difference between the years or is just a case of get as later model with as low kms as possible except in blue?
