  1. if you have no vin number on your firewall your car HAS been converted. Subaru started using stamped vin numbers in 1973 on firewall and in 1981 it was nz legislation to have them. My old man is a wof inspector and i am doing my papers and he said if its not there then he would fail car, alot of places would probally not notice or care so no biggie but i would say it has been rebodied (not well done either).

On a side note any info you get from subaru themselves is probally useless as i have delt with them locally where a tech with 18yrs experience couldnt fix a code 66 in a bg gt, it was forums like this where i got awnsers and solutions, please show some respect to the members here who probally DO know everything (or close to) about these cars, alternatively piss off and go join a blowarse homo forum where you will learn nothing.

  2. if you were in invers i could sort one out. Guy that works with me is panelbeater got his own business only does resto he chooses but i can twist his arm lol whats gotta be done and how much you want to spend is what it comes down to.

  3. yep good idea then remove heat shields and follow instructions from jord also there is a prick of a pipe under turbo that runs back into crankcase just has simple clamp on it if turbo doesnt come out thats what will be holding it (thats how i found it) also use tons of wd40 or similar penetrant on exhaust housing bolts before you try to undo just take your time and you be sweet as

I've got a 2000 gtb spec c with zs controller and i get the same code(65), doing a ecu clear via laptop/cable clears my code but it comes straight back after a short drive.never showed this code before i installed controller. i guess the ecu notices that things are working not how it wants to??

Aaaaah, so it has happened before! Maybe this is a 3-plug BE/BH issue... But WHY is the big question, hmmmmmmm.

na more of a c-type/d-type ecu thing from what ive seen the a and b type ecus are less tepramental than later ones. Zs controllers work real good on bg but since this is be/bh i would have reccomended an ecu flash/tune.

  5. Yes the solonoids in the box have air filters on them most of the time they are just blocked with crap, ive done 3 boxes now and it smooths out boost and cures code 66. Ya just need patience new vac hose clean solonoids and filters and i reccomend to replace all vac hose in engine bay they go hard from heat and crack. Most boost problems in tts are vacum related prick of an idea lol

  6. On bg5 theres a vacum pipe mod on pipe 10 and a similar one for be/bh which makes boost 16/16 reduces vod i have done to both models and makes a huge difference in acceleration both cars have done over 30k with mod. DONT put boost tap in tt subs it takes control of boost away from ecu and is asking for big trouble thats what blew 1st motor in bg5
