  1. Are you just replacing or upgrading to an STI?
  2. Didn't really want to start a new thread..topic is similar. Got me a new bodykit that needs painting and fitting. Any recommendations for paint shops on Auckland North Shore (or anywhere else in Auckland)?
  3. The Carjam report doesn't actually give his home address, just the PO Box number. But the name, and the company name will definitely yield some results. Will do a search on the company register, and see if I can get his physical address this way. Tyre-poking and windscreen smashing sounds pretty fare for the douchebaggery that the guy pulled on me, I'll make that my plan'b' Today I was lucky enough to discover that the guy works on the same road as I do. Saw him on the motorway. Only realized it when I noticed the car behind me braking rapidly, with a very familiar plate number fading into the distance.. He obviously saw me. Then sneakily changed lanes.. Didn’t want to make it obvious that I saw him, so stayed stayed in front of him. I did manage to see him pulling into one of the carparks in my rear-view mirror. Might have been a side street actually, but its not a biggie. It's just a matter of time now, seeing that I know the approximate area where he works, and the time he starts working, as well as the route he takes ;D I agree. Waiting for cops to do something in my case - is a f*k*ng waste of time..
  4. Bough the Carjam report, so got the name of the guy, as well as his company name and PO Box address. Shouldn't be too hard getting hold of him now ;D Thanks for all the suggestions
  5. Does anyone know how to find out a person's details by their rego? This guy tried to squeeze past on my right, where a single lane was splitting into two. I was in that single lane, not moving anywhere - traffic light up ahead was red. Looks like the douchebag didn't really notice my bright white car in front, and kept on driving, scraping along my rear bumper. I got out of the car, told him to pull over after the traffic lights. I pulled over - he sped past. All I got were his rego details. Naturally I've already called the police, reported a hit and run, but considering I have no insurance at the moment, I'm not expecting them to do much
  6. Yeah, I've tried google a few times, didn't get too far. Have come across numerous posts of the same nature on other forums, but no resolutions. I'll give the Japanese Pioneer website a go. Last time didn't get further then finding a Japanese manual for my system, which doesn't help much, since I don't read Japanese.. If anyone's got the disc which they can chuck my way, let me know. Will be happy to pay..a reasonable amount.
  7. Cleaned out a pile of receipts and other crap that tends to accumulate under the seats - didn't find any money..damn.. Cleaned the dried wasabi off the drivers seat as well. At least I hope it was wasabi...
  8. Had an integrated sat nav/dvd system sitting in my subie without getting any use since I got the car. The only time I tried to pop a DVD in there, and open up the screen, it started spitting Japanese profanities at me. That's what I though at first anyway. After googlerizing and searching different forums, I learned that the system needs to be initialized using a special DVD..which I don't have ofcourse, and is not one of those things you can download either.. Wondering if anyone has same sort of system and the magic initializing DVD? Or maybe there's some other way to get it working (or maybe not?). Any advice/info is much appreciated. The unit is a Pioneer Carrozzeria AVIC-DR2500
  9. Definitely the "glovebox" fan. Cleaned out the filter, and all the other leaves and crap - no effect After monkeying around for a little bit longer, it turned out to be a small freakin piece of dry leaf stuck between the fins of the fan, which must have popped out at higher fan speeds, or increased vibration. All that's left now, is to clean the huge pile of leaves out of the car ;D Thanks for all the advice once again.
  10. Cheers for that, will check. The noise disappears once the engine is off with the fan still going, so doubt its got anything to do with some junk being stuck in there, although wouldn't hurt to check anyway.. Noticed it doesn't depend on the aircon being on when engine's running either. It can be just the fan going - and it kicks in not long after being turned on. Thanks for all the advice. Will give everything a go, and let you know how it goes.
  11. Got a strange clicking noise coming from the aircon, on the passengers side, coming from behind/underneath the glovebox. Quite loud on low fan speed. On faster fan speeds, the clicking noise speeds up as well, and fades away. The noise is only there when the engine is on. Once the engine is off, the noise disappears, even with the aircon going. Any idea of what the cause could be?
  12. Been given different quotes ranging from 750 to 1000+ (including some or all of the service) Pays to check with a few different mechanics.
  13. Just stumbled across this complete service manual here while searching for some info on my B4 the other day. http://www.onlinefreeebooks.net/automotive-machinery-power-equipment-ebooks/subaru/2000-subaru-legacy-service-manual-pdf.html Might come in handy one day
