I have a 97 wrx sti V4 with standard ECU... How do i get rid of the speed cut???

Does anybody have a step by step guide on how to change cambelt on a wrx... Is it possible to do without taking out the engine? Any help would be very much appericated... photos if possible?

Ok so if i wanted to put all my old stuff back on and ONLY replace the block i would be wanting a short block? and as its a 1997 wrx sti V4... ok to hell with it can someone tell me exactly what i need. Short or long block and closed or open... Im too hungover to comprehend what you guys are saying lol

ok my engine was rebuilt under warrenty about 59,000 km ago but is starting to loose compression in a cycilnder... Its still ok i got told by the mechanic its not a big deal yet is there any way of recond the engine or doing something other that rebuilding it or replacing it?

Thinkng of getting a new block for my version 4 wrx sti... Very amature question but wat is the difference between long block and short block and what is closed deck?

When you put drivers seat belt on you gota know how to do it otherwise it jams when pulling it down... Thats not a gud enough excuse... that olny i drive it, can it be fixed?

Took it to elite automotive in palmy and they found a hole in the fmic piping... it was hard up against something so driving normaly had no boost leak but when driven hard the engine would move and the boost leak would become apparent... Sorry for late reply... i just found out... Havent got my car back yet either lol.... Thanx heaps for every1s help!

I changed the gap to 0.6mm no difference. It does it on 11psi and worse on 18psi. Im just going to go to subaru and let them find it. Ive spent over a grand and nothing has worked

The gap is .75mm on the plugs, im replacing the leads tomorrow as mine are looking not so hot, the filter is on the right way, If the leads are not the problem what would be my next step? Thans so much for all your input also... Much appreciated!!!!!

I dont knw. If its fuel or spark... Im sure fuel filter is on the right way... Could it possibly be fuel pump? How do i check the bov is not leaking?

It started doing it gradually. Only does it at boost over 10psi. real bad at 20psi

Yea ive been told its running rich but wouldnt know what to do after what i have already done. I have given it a comb over for boost leaks twice and have come up with nothing I have exhausted my automotive knowledge and may have missed a hose or pipe somewhere im not sure... Il have a look again tonight

I have been looking through other peoples posts and someone sed it feels as though the car is being held back lowkey? I dunno its hard to explain. Im in auckland this weekend and all of next week. OK so i replaced my spark plugs AFM and fuel filter and when ever i hit boost my car runs rough and black smoke comes out the back... what would be my next step in locating this problem, i have a 97 wrx sti V4

How big should the gap be? they done 0.75mm And does that sound like a afm problem? anyone selling a orange sticker afm
