  1. i have no suggestions for you but can say that my car suffers from this too. a real pain. esp is the morning when you're just cruising along under light throttle and it goes all surgy like that. feels like you're driving over bumps in the road. is yours auto or manual? because i guess you wouldn't feel that in an auto.
  2. umm first things first, yes i have changed them from standard, they are v7 STI shocks and springs in my sf5 forester. pretty standard stuff. i did notice that the rear springs were only borderline captive from the outset but never thought it would be a problem unless for some reason i was getting air somewhere along the way. (still waiting on that one). so nothing really out of the ordinary set up wise. will have a poke around to see what i can see with a torch though cheers
  3. i've had a strange going on in the past month or so, i'll pull up to the lights and be sitting still for a bit and the back of the car will suddenly settle a little. feels like you just rolled into a hole or something. but it's while i'm completely still. makes a funny noise. not a groaning but a quiet little settling noise? any ideas?
  4. i have Ver 7 sti struts in my forester (SF5) and am looking to repace the shocks as they are playing up. what would anybody recommend. i'm looking to make it a little softer than it is currently but not saggy like it was before that (Standard Springs etc). any advice would be great. Cheers
  5. I Have a 97 Forester with the obligatory Ver7 Strut install but the shocks are playing up and i'm seeking advice for replacement. i have sti struts in there but i find them a little hard for the foz. what have people done in the past? Cheers Rupert
  6. Hey i'm at that stage of my cars life where i want to change the cam belt on my 97 forester but would like a manual to follow to make sure it is done correctly. if anyone has a haynes book or similar on this car or a wrx of same vintage i guess i would love to borrow / hire it from you. Cheers Rupert
  7. bugger, that's not my problem then. i un plugged the O2 sensor and still got the vague roaming idle, bit hard to feel the surge as there aren't many roads smooth enough to really feel it on. but i know it hasn't fixed the idle.... any more suggestions from the masses??
  8. so did that solve the surging issue? and was yours doing the same to mine?
  9. I'm battling with the same type of thing in my 97 forester. Surgy on slight throttle and lumpy idle, well not lumpy exactly more Like surgy idle too Esp when cold. Just goes up and down while sitting at lights. Any ideas?
