Apologies to the OP for the potential thread hijack. But does anyone know whats happening re bov? Is the rumour that you can\'t have them vent to atmo but can have them plumbed back?

LIES!!!
the SSI 3 bolt flange ones on trade me are said to be made in the same factory as GT Spec and Tomei, they are at the very least exact copies

I run these and haven\'t had an issue yet (and I\'m running good power)

My two cents
As stated above get the alarm installed properly ie my first alarm the brains were installed just under the plastic on the drivers side...
Next time round alarm was installed as close to the firewall as possible also had a piezo siren added into the cabin meaning if it goes off there is a100db screaming at you. Won\'t stop a thief but will make it pretty uncomfortable.
And lastly a kill switch that only you know about hidden real well that kills something like the fuel pump.

If you have the know how and time build one, its not terribly hard. Or look at state side websites as they like to swap out their scoops - spency tho

and it IS epic fun!

To give you an idea... I got 230wkw out of mine with only a turbo back exhaust, fmic (a trademe special at that), a bov and a tuned g4. Was running stock everything else is a v3 so was running a vf23 but it gives you an idea. Spend the money wisely... A ecu with a good tune will work wonders... I went from 187 to 230 with a g4 upgrade and that was it.

not to hijack the thread but i got asked once to remove the STI fog covers as he wanted to see the spotlights. i said there isnt any spot lights he said no i need to see.... supervisor came over and was like WTF going on here told him. he tells the dude hes a dumass and to leave it lol.
So i guess the moral is go to the supervisor or as jon says rub it in his nose with the chassis plate.

I believe what you guys are after can be found here https://www.dipyourcar.com/home.php?cat=15
I have ordered 8)
how many gallons did you get? what car you doing and what colour?

Having got a 300kw car. I have never used the potential/ power on the street. IMO realistically all you can do whilst trying to keep your car out of impound is a bit of aggressive acceleration. Whilst that\'s fun is it worth the 10k plus plus.
However if you were going to track days etc much different story

the bigger the better ;D

When i got my big scoop i read it was something like a 11 - 14 degrees cooler intake temp (again i would imagine depends on a few variables). this was 3-5 years ago so dont ask for details
-
yes i does really plant the arse of the car, but like i said i cant definitively say whether its better or worse than my old standard wing. would be interesting to take that out for a run to see if i could feel a difference (if i still had it)
-
Wings are a whole other kettle of fish. Securing it to the rear is one ie like mine but then you have boot flex etc. ideal is to affix to the chassis but then lose the ability to open boot easily. then setting it up correctly ie right angles etc.
mine also rattles around a bit as well - also attributed to boot mounting. Having said all that though i do notice having it on there, but do i notice it more than say my standard v3 wing - debatible.
Just my useless brain dump
-
nope its much better than the scoop i had on there previous
-
FWIW i run an Evo style bonnet. - Bring on the hate lol ;D
-
or newtown by the servo cant remember the shop name tho

Have you had a look at Jon and my setups? We recycle them back in the filler cap. But we are modding them again. Pop round for geez if you want, can show you
-
That ra looks ducks nuts
-
re can sizes etc - check your motorsport manual as there is a perscribed size you are allowed to run depending on engine size.
Fully cannot remember (got mine ages ago) but i think minimum is 1l for a 2 litre motor (check manual). Baffles in the can is also a good thing. I got mine from sinco customs - good price high quality.
-
nope, helps but not the solution. you need to recycle it back into the car quickly or simply block the offending head (dependent on track)
