  1. It\'s a \'99 non sti wagon. The shoulder parts are fine its just the middle part Most evo seats and itr seats do the same thing. I\'m a fairly sizable chap, very wide ribcage.
  2. This I was thinking of doing. I\'ve owned a lot of turbo cars and never had a turbo timer. From what I\'ve read there is 2 schools of thought as to whether you need one or not, I\'m part of the later school of thought. Thanks, I\'ll pull it out tomorrow.
  3. Hey all, just bought myself a wrx. I have found though that the seats don\'t suit me too well The supports in the middle of the back dig into my ribcage. I manage to bend them out slightly, although not enough How easy is it to remove and replace the outer cover to leave the metal frame? That way I can bend them properly. Thanks.
  4. So I just bought a 99 wrx wagon. It has a turbo timer that I think has been installed wrong. When you turn the ignition to AC it turns everything on, as if you have turned the key around to ON. So its as if AC and ON are the same thing. I\'ve attached a picture of the turbo timer, I have a feeling they\'re pretty common. Does anyone have the wiring instructions for it Also it\'s set for a minute, I tried to change it to 10 seconds but it keeps reverting back to a minute. Anyone know how to fix it?

    Car groomer

Yeah it\'s a plate I\'ve had for about 12 years, read it as fastard, fast Ford, fast forward etc I actually had a Ford fanatic offer me pretty much a blank cheque for it. He had some pretty insane Falcon, said name your price. I turned him down, my parents bought it for my 21st and didn\'t have the heart to sell it.

    Car groomer

Between my 1 year old, working, all my animals etc I don\'t have time for it If I can get someone to come round, or I can drop the car off it would make my life so much easier.

Sweet, what sort of price can I expect for a inside clean?

    Car groomer

Hey all, anyone here a car groomer or know a good one? Want the inside of my car done, there\'s a bit of dog hair, dust, and I\'m selling the car and don\'t have the to do it myself.
  9. http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,18268.0.html This is what I mean. Be strange that a car from the same family but half a decade newer wouldn\'t have them, but the older ones do?
  10. Hi all, done a search for tethering points for baby seats but only came back for legacys and bugeye wagons. Would a \'99 WRX wagon happen to be in the same place, on the roof, right at the back under the plastic trim by the hatch? If so is the hole threaded so all you have to do is drill a hole in the plastic trim and screw in the attachment? Thanks.
  11. I think it\'s nice having a matching set, especially when the fronts look so so good on this car. I\'m not necessarily saying to upgrade, more for looks.
  12. Are you going to fit the matching 2 pot calipers on the back Don\'t mean to sound like a hater (because I love how clean and polished the front brakes look), but I always feel slightly disappointed when I see big flash 4 pot brakes on the front, and dirty old 1 pots on the back. Alfa Romeo, Mercedes are bad for this. Probably just my OCD kicking in ;D
  13. I have a \'95 BG5 tt manual wagon. It\'s done around 203,000k\'s. It\'s 100% factory except for some low king springs. Motor has never had the boost raised etc. I service it regularly and it\'s just had new cambelt, waterpump, seals, gaskets, spark plugs, air and fuel filter, all liquids replaced, basically everything possible without lifting the heads or rebuilding the block. How long can I expect the block to last? As far as I know the turbos are the original ones, car blows no smoke, both still produce boost effortlessly, what sort of life span can I expect out of them What are the manual gearboxs like as far as longevity? Bearings, synchros? It\'s got a slightly graunch only sometimes going into reverse and sometimes going from 2nd back to 1st I\'m just debating whether or not to keep it or sell it off whilst the going is good and get something else Any advice would be appreciated.
  14. Sweet thanks guys, I\'ll wait then.
  15. Last night in the wind a huge piece of wood went through the rear window on my BG5 wagon smashing it into a million pieces. Insurance are paying Smith and Smith to replace it. Apparently there are 3 different colours when it comes to glass in Legacys, Green, bronze and privacy, mine is bronze. Only bronze rear screen they have is in Auckland and will take 5 days to get here, however they have a green one in stock and can do it almost straight away. Lady reckons I won\'t be able to tell the difference between the green and bronze, I\'m not so sure Anyone have any experience in this area?
  16. I am assuming that to get it to run more like a GTR or Supra setup you would need to run 1 turbo off each bank of cylinders, both fed by the same afm, running into a 2-1 intercooler and then into the intake manifold? You would also assumably need 2 turbos the same size? I would also assume that the factory ecu would have to pack its bags and hit the old dusty trail?
  17. Nice, it is a pity the TT setup in the legacy doesn\'t work as well as the GTR or Supra setup. Although there\'s nothing like putting your foot down in 2nd, the primary spooling up instantly, then vod, then the secondary kicking in and taking it right up to red line. The noise of the secondary, the kick of the secondary... To be honest I had thought about going to single, but I do enjoy the TT.
  18. Yeah it seems too. Just been out in it again before and tried it. Definitely starts to build boost between 1000-1100rpm and pull quite hard. The exhaust has been replaced from the cat back as well due to failure of original exhaust, but nothing special, just press bends etc So on a rolling start say both in 3rd gear at enough speed so the TT is above vod the single turbo would still have it all over the TT?' alt='>So on a rolling start say both in 3rd gear at enough speed so the TT is above vod the single turbo would still have it all over the TT?'>
  19. I have a BG5 Wagon. Completely factory, no motor mods at all bar a boost gauge and no speed cut. It will easily pull from 1000rpm in 4th. The primary turbo starts building boost immediately and it will go on to redline pretty quick. Tried it on a private road, so know there\'s no speed cut
  20. Been thinking about this and was wondering... If you took a BG5 Wagon, TT, manual, completely factory and say 100k on board. Also take a completely factory BP Wagon, turbo, manual, completely factory and also 100k on board. They both had same gearbox and diff ratios and motor condition. If you were to put them both in 4th gear, driving along at 1000rpm around 25kmph and then put your foot flat to the floor, which is going to hit redline first? I know with my BG5 Wagon the boost starts building around 1100rpm, builds really quick, hits secondary and goes onto higher revs pretty quick. I\'ve not driven a BP before, so would the turbo lag be such that by the time it got a wriggle on that the TT would be gone?
  21. Legend! Thanks for that. I was using the wrong key words to search ???
  22. So basically I can remove one of the cargo loops and replace it with the loop that came with the baby seat? I had to drill a hole in the boot of my Alto and fit a rather large nut, bolt and washer with the loop. I don\'t really want to go down that path if I can avoid it.
  23. The only one I found was in regards to a post 2000 impreza. Wasn\'t sure if it was relivant for a 1995 legacy.
  24. In a BG5 legacy wagon can you use either the mount on the back of the rear seat or one of the cargo rings on the boot floor to tether a baby seat to?
  25. Struggling to find pics, but I think the non turbo HX20 had them among others? I want them for my 95 Legacy and I think these ones will match the interior the best.
