  1. Is there a definitive list of which WRX seats (material and color) came in which car

I\'m looking for a really good condition pair out of the non turbo earlier impressa, the grey/black tweed type material

Not terribly easy to find. Just wanting to know which other models the tweed type material came in

On the other hand if someone has a set of mint tweed seats, with rails for a decent price, let me know. Let me know regardless of color, if price and condition are right in could forgive the color.

  2. Hey all, I have a BG5 tt wagon. It has factory bilsteins from another bg5. I bought some low king springs from trademe after the guy advised they were for a bg5.

Fronts fitted fine, rears not so much. The factory springs are the same diameter at the very top and bottom, the king springs supplied are the same diameter as the factories at the bottom, but the tops are about 35mm less in diameter.

Have I been given the wrong springs

    Do I need different tophats

    Thanks.

  3. Don\'t get me wrong, when you\'re in 2nd or 3rd, put your foot down, primary kicks in, vod, then the secondary turbo kicks in, there\'s nothing like it, the pull, the speedo shooting up, the noise, the fact that my tt legacy is probably the fastest car I\'ve driven above 100k.

Just sucks when you\'re not watching properly, change gear slightly too soon and the revs drop into the vod zone...

  4. Is there no way that you can remove the ecv all together and have the exhaust gases running through both turbos right from idle, rather then just the primary turbo getting all the low down gases, then the ecv switching to both up higher?

Or will the ecu crap itself if you were to remove the ecv?

sure makes sense, you just asked if BP leggy wheels fit and they do..

so you\'re either stumping up the cash for em or looking for other sets ???

Sorry, came across a bit wrong. Yes I did want to make sure they fitted, thanks for answering that.

I would also pay decent cash for a good set as well. For aftermarket wheels I wouldn\'t pay as much as it\'s not exactly what I want. But I\'m not going to completely rule a set out if someone has some nice ones.

Also for insurance purposes if I was running factory Subaru wheels I don\'t have to tell them. They said only want to know if I am running aftermarket wheels.

the B spec BP legacies are the most common ones in NZ that have the 18" rims from factory, the sti ones will all be moon beans $$.

It\'s the BP ones that I want the most. I\'ve missed a few sets, last ones went for $900 with almost new tyres, I forgot the auction was finishing.

I don\'t want to or expect to pay heaps, especially when you can buy brand new 18" rims for under a grand, and tyres now days are getting so cheap.

I know you pay for what you get, but the car hardly moves, maybe once a week.

  7. Thanks guys...

Good to know. I don\'t rape it, I service it every 5000k\'s and it\'s all factory.

No tappet noises, no smoke etc...

    I\'ll keep the block then.

Going to give her a 200,000k birthday, gaskets, spark plugs, new engine/gearbox and diff oils, all belts replied etc...

I have just heard so many stories about the engines in these letting go in under 200,000ks...

  8. I have a BG5 tt Legacy, motor is almost coming up to the magical 200k figure. Car is completely factory, doesn\'t blow any smoke, turbos are good.

Few issues however. Cambelt is coming up due and there is an ever so slight leak from the tappet cover gaskets and from the front cam seal. When I say not much, between 5000k services you hardly notice it on the dip stick.

Do I get my mechanic to do the gaskets, front camseal, cambelt, water pump, tensioners, spark plugs etc etc or...

Do I get one of those rebuilt blocks from trademe, and replace my block and get new belts, pumps, spark plugs etc put on?

I\'m just a little hesitant to spend upwards of a grand replacing parts on my current motor for it to crap itself...

Are the tt short blocks the same as all the other blocks?

Is a well looked after, serviced, factory tt block well capable of more then 200k?

I don\'t care to modify the motor and it will stay factory and tt.

    Thanks

  9. Hi all,

Been looking at upgrading the Legacy. I have been looking at v6 and v7 wagons, both sti and non sti.

Apart from the obvious visual differences mechanically is one better then the other? Especially the non sti ones.

I know the 6 speed is a good box.

I\'m only looking at near factory ones with reasonable k\'s.

  10. Hi all

Do the rear seats with the dog screen thing in them out of the Legacy's after the BG5 fit into the BG5?

If so does anyone in Christchurch have some they want to part with? ;D
