  1. Hi all... I know where the jack for my BG5 Wagon is... but I have no idea where the thing to wind it up and down is!?!?! I am assuming that there is suppose to be a dedicated winding doo-dack for the jack? Thanks
  2. Tried to find out exactly how to do this... How do you adjust the factory roof racks on a BG5 Legacy wagon? After the car got painted the drivers side one seems to be lose, mainly where the center bar slots into the end pieces. So I assume there is a way you can adjust the end pieces in to stop it rattling? If you can please let me know what size socket/allen key I need. Thanks
  3. Nice, you don't see the sedans so much, plus that colour
  4. Awesome thanks! I'm useless with the search functions on forums! never have got to grips with using them ???
  5. Hi all, I have a Beltronics radar detector, had it for a while now. Recently it's been coming up with an error "LO3 CAL" and "Markers" flashing up. Apparently according to what I can find on the net it's due to an internal calibration error? Also according to the net it needs to be sent back to Beltronics to get recalibrated. Anyone able to help?
  6. Where is a good place in Christchurch to get wheels painted?
  7. Cool thanks guys, gives me lots of food for thought! I don't want it to low, I live in Christchurch, our old house was red zoned in Avonside and our new house is only 1 block away, albeit in the green zone, although the streets are still quite terrible to say the least! Would be quite good to get a pic of all Legacys with their suspension combo so people know exactly what they are going to get when they buy a certain lowering spring. Might be a good Sticky?
  8. Perfect! That's exactly the height I want. My wagon is identical to yours including the spoiler and black bits I just swapped out my BBS alloys for some Motoform Sektors (keeping the BBS's though cause I love them). Do you think yours would be the same height with factory BG5 suspension and the H&R lowering springs?
  9. I have a BG5 Station wagon and just got some 17's on it. Wanting to lower it. Not wanting to lower it to much, still want to have a gap between the tyres and the guards. Can people please put up pics of their Legacys lowered and let me know what springs you are using. Thanks
  10. Cool I'll jack the car up and have a look into it...
  11. I had my mate do it whose a mechanic. He did have a problem with 1 caliper on the front that wouldn't come off, had to remove the hose, rebleed that side though.
  12. Hey all, what would cause the brakes to shudder above 60kmph? Doesn't seem to do it at all under 60... I have new pads and rotors all round. Bedded them all in as per the manufactuers instructions, done around 1000-1500k's on them.
  13. Well have the front CV's replaced last night, wow what a difference! So much nicer now! Funny enough when we took the shafts out and cleaned them up they had 1 ring on them.
  14. Fingers crossed then... Getting them done tonight!
  15. Oh I forgot to add the rest of the details: My friend is a mechanic and can get them at cost. I gave him the car model number, engine type, year, manual, ABS. But I told him they had 1 ring on the shaft which I now think is wrong. Is the model number, engine type, year, manual and ABS enough to tell exactly what outer CV for my wagon?
  16. Hi all, went to the FAQ and this didn't answer my question. I have a '95 BG Subaru SW, manual and ABS. Outer front CV's are buggered and I'm getting them replaced. I realise that there are 3 different types of CV joints? He asked if on the shaft it had none, 1 or 2 rings on it. I had a look and said 1, that's all i could see. I now have a sneaking suspition that I might have this wrong. The CV boots are gone, they perished (silt covered) and the 1 ring I think I might have seen was where the CV boot attaches? So maybe I have no rings then? Can anyone put up some pics of what I need to look for? Or does it not matter for the outer CV's?
  17. That would be great, provided I win them! ;D I seen a set on a BG wagon and they look so so good!
  18. Yeah I'm thinking they will... but always wanted them. So if I win the auction I just want to see if there is someone that could help.
  19. Mikeypower on trademe has a set of wheels to suit a Subaru that I want, but he's in the Waikato and I'm in Christchurch and he doesn't want to ship This is the auction: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/wheels-tyres/alloy-wheels/auction-438234870.htm Always wanted some of these for my BG wagon. Is there anyone that would pick these up and send them to me? I can repay in cash, beer etc etc....
  20. I like that! I have a silver 95 TT Wagon as well, but with the factory 16" BBS wheels that I'm looking to upgrade to 17's... Those wheels really suit it!
  21. I have a BG5 TT Wagon and it's completly factory apart from the muffler. It's almost at 190,000k's, still running smooth, gearbox is good, no smoke, no leaking oil. Everyone seems to go on about the VOD, but if you get it high enough in the rev range in first or second and can change fast enough it doesn't really effect the car at all, it'll stay boosting on the primary (primary is the bigger second turbo right? i always get confused! ).
  22. Yeah your right, probably would be to bright at night. Was thinking of finding the right wire then running it through a switch. It's almost impossible to read during a slightly glarey day. Might have to bust out the multimeter!
  23. Sweet I'll try that tomorrow ;D Could be my cars christmas present to me!
  24. I drive with them on all the time, not to be cool, but hopefully all the shit useless other drivers on the road will see me. Plus aren't fog lights generally yellow rather then white? I regard them more as driving lights anyways ;D So anyone know how to stop the heater unit dimming?
