    option code bj vs bjc

    Hi there

    I was just checking up on my Vin Plate and here goes

    GC8C4ED - EJ20GDW5PE - TY752VB4AA = V2 STI

    BUT

    my option code is only BJ not BJC. All my reseach shows that BJ was an option code only for V1 and all v2 should have BJC So very confused?

    does anyone have an answer for this?

    Passanger wing mirror GC8 Help

    Hi

    My passenger wing mirror is loose and flaps around in 1995 wrx.

    the electronics still work well so currently I have done a hori job and taped it down..

    How do I stop it flapping? there are 3 scews under mirror on the exterior but I cant get at them due to angle, should I fully remove the wing mirror from the inside of the car, if so, how do I do that?

    Hi there

    Bad news, it looks like my new (old) v2 May need new gaskets, I don\'t know much about this and I want to find out about prices. where should I look? how much would a mechanic charge to replace a whole set?

    Also, are the exedy clutch range any good, what about the Xtreme ones? I can find clutches for between 500-750. I worry as I burnt through one in my evo 7 years ago, however admittedly I was drag racing at meremere during this time ::)

    Should I look at a fly wheel as well? or just get the standard one machined?

    These days I am not drag racing at night wars, or hammering the car, so I wonder if an OEM replacement would just be better for clutch. Rather than getting a HD one.

    I have decided if they need to pull engine out I might as well get new clutch as well plus, get some spark plugs rather than me doing it later.

    smoke cant actually come out of a turbo in the engine bay . unless it is physically smashed to pieces

    just check its not leaking more oil and keeps burning that off .

    Thanks for that. That makes me feel better, the turbo feels like it is boosting fine etc. Do I just need to wipe away the excess grime etc?

    How long can I expect this to continue before it stops?

    Hi

    Bad day just got my v2 sti, buy the time I got home I relised there was smoke coming from the engine around where the turbo is. I asked the last owner and he said that he got the oil return gasket replaced and that its just old residue burning off. What should I do? does that sound right?

    Whats the worst case scenario here? :)

    I need some one to direct me to a forum/thread or guide that will assist me to remove either but hopefully both the front and rear bumper of a v2 sti.

    My google search has come up empty however I am sure someone knows some where to go :)

    the covers attach to the same point, but are extended by some simple metal brackets. 3 fixings per side. you might have to make these up, someone may be able to measure them for you to get the correct mounting distance

    , I am very interested to either get spotlights or a the covers.

    If its had an accident should I worry? carjam has no record of a crash etc.

    With the covers if I find some, will they just slot in or do I need to get something fabricated?

    What about if I decide to go with the spotlight look?

    hi guys

    I am picking up a v2 on the weekend, just wanted to double check some things,

    1st: only the sti has water spray on the intercooler not the wrx?

    2nd: the badge in the front is not pink is that weird? they are black or grey.

    3rd: the intercooler itself is meant to be silver not black for a sti?

    4th: what colour and design should the seats be?

    I am just trying to work out what parts are original and what have been changed

    Either way I am looking forward to have another sti :)

    a great noob question....

    Waste Gate question:

    If one was running a external waste gate with a 7 psi spring however the standard boost for the car was 13psi for instance would the car only boost to 7 psi or would it still continue to 13psi. The waste gate in this scenario is not being controlled by a electronic boost controller or boost tap and the ecu is standard.

    I am aware that the spring dictates the lowest boost the car will run.

    Hi there fellas

    So just a quickie; It\'s true that Gc wrx had the same hp as Sti but less toque and missing extra add ones? At what point then did the Gd models reduce power toless than 206kw for wrx? Just seems weird to reduce power years later.

    To be honest I always thought gc wrx had less power than equivalent sti.

    Well the more u know I suppose :)

    Hi there

    I am looking at getting another subie, last one I had was a v9 sti. I am wanting to look at the earlier versions v3-v6. I have looked through the net but have not got a straight answer.

    Is there any difference in hp and torque between a certain version sedan model and hatchback/estate/stationwagon mode? I am oly interested in getting a sti model.

    Sorry if this has been asked before or I am rehashing!
