Yep by "5 star" alarm, they're referring to rubbish like a AVS S5 or Dynatron D7800. The factory Subaru Immobiliser is probably Thatcham Cat 2 equivalent (or higher), which leaves those aforementioned for dust.

I'm looking at ripping out my cheap alarm and getting either a Autowatch 446RLi or Cobra AK4138, with GPS tracking. That would be the minimum requirements before I even consider taking the car to Aucks.

I run the 446RLi its pretty cool does the trick but if your gonna get a new one and your coming to Auckland stop in Hamilton to get the Cobra alarm from Mattapo on here he might knock off some dosh on it

  2. The tomei breaks down to make fitting easier, I'm in the boat that it doesn't need changing till ya upsize ya turbo the pipe in between the afm and under pipe is more effective back to back between 2 V7 sti's mine and a mates he had bugger all gains by going with the full sillicone under pipe and me rolling with the hks intake kit with the standard plastic pipe.

He might have spooled a bit faster (not much) but we put it down to EBC's with his beingn ewer gfb g force 2 and mine being a hks evc4

The new pump was installed a few days BEFORE the reflash so it will have nothing to do with the reflash. I went for a drive with the op after he installed the pump to see if it was obvious but it drove as good as any stock v7 would, didn't notice anything abnormal. They did use the aftermarket deatschwerks filter sock on the new pump and i've told him to swap back to the stock one. He just thinks it was faster before the pump install for some reason. But the reflash was done a few days after this so now even i'm confused with what he's getting at

Well that changes things the way he worded it sounded like he did it after the tune still doesn't change the point go back and see Amit

  4. The fueling could be very different smaller pump being asked to work harder then ya tell a better pump to work on the same parameters its always gonna be different, go back and see Amit he will be more than happy to sort it if so.Hes a top bloke and stands by his work I recommend him as he did my car and I have had no problems at all with it and thats 2 years now since we did it.

The pump would have no bearing on your boost settings what so ever or so you would think but depending on your what your boost gauge is telling you there could be underlying problems there and as for your ecu resetting that was true for older GC/GF models but not yours so your quite safe there. It seems like we need more info on your problem can you elaborate anymore??

  5. the turbo smart gauge has a special Tee with a boost pill looking thing in there the hole in it cant be more than a half a mm in size but its teed in and running sweet thanks for the help people

Being pessimistic... what is the worst thing that can happen if you T off the reg? To my mind,

the T'd off line could come off the back of the boost gauge, then bleed off enough boost to affect

the reg, but not enough to stop the car boosting. Which would mean running lean. How likely this

situation is, would depend on how the line was installed and the type of boost gauge etc... but

it has happened to me (with a previously installed gauge). The average mechanic might think that

situation is unlikely... but then it's not their car at risk.

Very good point indeed there Loren
