My freshly aquired v2 sti

Un blocked water sprayers woohoo not sure if I can tell a difference tho haha

Haha...Welcome back...hows the nissan project going?
The silvia drift cars been done and gone -built up a wicked sr20det - gt3076r turbo with sard 850s etc etc fully caged it and tube framed it - got sick of having a car that's fully built and only gets driven couple times a year so parted it out and paid some bills brought some toys and most of all brought one if my favourite cars ever !!!
Been missing that suby rumble !!! And genuine sti for the first time !!!
-
Checked all the fluids on our newly aquired wrx sti ! Have Missed having a suby so much

I\'ve never had a car that back fires when u come back onto the gas after a gear change - with venting bovs or no bov what so ever
At least rich is 100000x better than going lean
-
Still struggling to see how the engine can run rich when the bov is venting - because like I said soon as u let the gas off the injectors are off- so when bov is venting the injectors are off unless you have turned fuel cut off on the ECU
My wide band doesn\'t go rich before it shows the fuel cut is working ??
If it was going rich when the valves venting - you would have a machine gun of backfires when the valves open
-
Your missing a big point - when you let your foot off and tps hits idle contacts - the ECU turns injectors off (fuel cut on decel)
So my question again is how does it run rich when the injectors are all turned off
-
How rich are we talking ? Does anyone actually have a wide band and watch what happens when the valves venting ?
I have a venting valve in my drift car - and a wide band - I pull 11.0 afr on wot and as soon as I let off it spikes up real lean because as soon as you lift the ECU initiates fuel cut
Call me dumb but I\'m confused as to how the car can go rich when the injectors are turned off - is it because the maf is still reading too high when you first put the gas back on ?

Finished new exhaust
B*tches love long pipes
-
Made downpipe and half of exhaust happy to be that much closer to starting it up
Can\'t wait to hear this animal
-
Well one needs to be an inline pump and one needs to be a in tank pump -
And as per how pressure is created - any fuel pump will work as a low pressure lift pump because the fuel regulator is what makes the pressure - the lift pump simply fills the tank using stock / walbro intank pump works fine

More info ? What is this ? Haha in interested ? I have everything to play with even a big turbo on a small motor haha
-
Sure would pm me

Had my first jam on a tig welder - welded 50mm bov adaptor on
/quote]
Alloy I am guessing nice, WATCH THE POOOL
Yup Ali tig - came out pretty good too - it\'s alot easier than I thought - just the heating looks different to steel / steel gloes - Ali just goes all shiny and weird looking when it\'s hot
I mig all day - pulse mig Ali too but didn\'t want to mig my intercooler pipes haha

For that money u can get a gt2860 which will spool quicker and support 280 -300 kw

Put it all back together with new injectors off Marc
Still heaps of stuff to get done but slowly getting there
Looking good Brad, Joys of a race car... space ;D
Tube frame and no lights makes for heaps of room haha just trying to keep it tidy
Engine bay wise just need to make exhaust and weld bov flange on

Made a cold air intake / bitches love cold air

Those are sti pistons
The spark always ignites on compression stroke wnce timing is measured btdc (before top dead centre)
But yea other statements are true - that\'s caused from det - det is like a hammer on the piston - igniting way to early and trying to push the piston down when it\'s forced upwards can cock the piston over - brakes ring lands - although that looks pretty melted also so running pretty lean
-
Don\'t buy one of those shotty oversized up pipes - (up pipe from sta won\'t fit if u want to run under intake manifold intake pipe) - the oversized ones are top big and cause less response and the misalignment of flanges make me sad when I look at them
Pretty sure I gained 10kw from memory when I ditched the over sized one and went back to factory
Factory manifold / up pipe is fine (and sounds the best) - I would rather spend money on decent exhaust / downpipe / intake / if going front mount twist compressor housing and cut piping works a treat - if staying internal gate go to something like profec b greddy controller they\'re awesome at stopping boost tapering off like internals tend to do
