  1. Haha your cars done more k's than my old 1990 legacy wagon nick.
  2. Thanks guys, but I need to know how to get it off. I removed the two bolts and tried pulling on it and knocking it with a rubber hammer but it didn't seem to loosen a lot. Once I remove the bolts does it just unthread from the head?
  3. Hi I have a Old Skool legacy with a EFI EJ18 in it, it has recently developed a oil leak in the distributor. How do I remove the distributor and replace the leaking seal? I have pulled the dizzy cap off and notice there is two bolts on the Dizzy but don't know how it comes off when the bolts are removed. Thanks for any help you can give. Cheers Blake
  4. No CEL, could be crank or cam angle sensor but wouldn't that give me a CEL code?
  5. Hi Guys Ok I've been having a issue with my 95 GT Legacy lately. Sometimes after driving the car and then turning off the engine the car will not restart. *The car turns over *Has fuel (tested fuel pump) *Gets lights on dash so can't be alarm *Doesn't play up while driving car I suspect maybe the ignitor could be playing up?? This is getting a little annoying as I keep getting stranded at the supermarket haha. Cheers for your help guys!
  6. OK heres the thing, I can turn the heater in my 95 GT wagon up to 32 and the air coming out it still cold! Ive checked the water level and its fine and the car doesn't appear to be leaking water. I am guessing that it could be the valve the is controlled by the temp control that has died, has anyone had this before?
  7. Ok last week I had the knock sensor replaced in my GT Wagon (TT) and they have split the water hose. I noticed today while driving home a bit of steam so I pulled over and checked and sure enough was some steam coming from under intercooler. Long story short I limped her home and went to put her in garage and the pipe blew and had steam every where. However just before I got home the engine started getting a little noisy as though the car was low on oil. What would cause the engine to get noisy, the temp gauge was just over half all the way home but when I started it to move into the garage it was quite high. Have I blown a head gasket??
  8. Yeah TT however managed to get it all back together last night without swearing once haha.
  9. I'd really like to punch Mr Subaru in the face right now for letting his team design such a POS. I've spent the last 1.5 hours trying to get at the knock sensor moving and removing pipes and not getting it out I tried putting the car back together and now cant get the IC back on even though ive had it off a few times before. Im now probably going to have to tow the car to the garage and pay them to do it. Thanks Mr Subaru for the sh*t designed engine you made us. Right enough of my moaning and back to my Whiskey
  10. Hi Guys I am going to attempt to replace the knock sensor on my 95 GT wagon. I've pulled the intercooler off and had a quick look but can anybody pass on any hints to make this easier and if I need to remove anything else apart from the intercooler and what appears to be a water pipe. Thanks heaps Blake
  11. Wouldn't big end bearing be noisy all the time not just under acceleration?
  12. Hi Guys My RSB has developed a tapping noise when the engine is under acceleration or idiling however when the car is being driven at constant speed and not under acceleration or is slowing down the tapping noise is gone. The noise is also worse when the engine is cold. Whats causing this, piston slap or just bung lifters??
  13. Got the intercooler off and could only just see the knock sensor underneath all of the coolant pipes. Not sure how im supposed to get socket down there let alone my hand.
  14. I need to replace the knock sensor on my 95 GT Legacy. What I need to know is how easy is it to take the intercooler off as I know im going to need to do this to get at it.
  15. Already have 2 other turbo legacys. Seriously though what would cause this?
  16. Should have mentioned the engine is a EJ18 and using the same mounts of the original engine.
  17. Ok I'm doing a engine replacement in my legacy as the BEB in the old engine decided to go. I've got the new engine mated to the gearbox no problem but I cant get the engine mounts to sit in their holes. I've tried disconnecting the gearbox support and have tried all sorts by jacking up the gearbox and engine. Any secret tips I should know? as its driving me nuts.
