The turbo's have also been redesigned to spin up faster at the lower end. The suspension has been changed in the rear, from the McPherson Strut to a strut/Multi-link layout. Side airbags are now optional. Not noted above, but worth mentioning, is the fact that the NA DOHC motors gain Subaru's Active Valve Control System, essentially Variable Valve Control as used by most other major Japanese makers. Peak horsepower goes down slightly, but peak torque rises to 170ft/lbs arriving at 2800rpm, much lower than before.
