Ive heard this noise before its the turbo on whatever side you mentioned (secondary) being a twin turbo and guessing its probably an older one the turbo is probably pretty worn out I think its the blades hitting the housing slightly will only get worse as bearings wear worse
Would definetly look at replacing asap as I had a knob friend who didnt and snapped the exhaust wheel off and oil everywhere it can also put turbo bearing material through your motor
The noise will also happen whenever you start to spool the turbo
I would also expect the performance to be very average well in my freinds it was when i drove it before it broke and then replaced it

Thank you exactly what i was looking for
Cheers Koom

Does anyone have a shifter lying around for a type ra impreza can you please measure from the bottom ball(where it sits in bush and pivtst) up to the 2nd pivot point that connects forward to the gearbox
reason is i have an ra linkage and everything apart from the actually gear shifter
thanks even a picture would measurements would be great
-
would have to check the fronts but pretty sure they will the rears definetly would
they are 19-20mm front and 20-21mm rear is I remember correctly my rsb was f 20mm r 21mm
-
Yea I know was allways going to do that anyways just wanted to know the differences elsewhere
-
Can anyone tell me which is better and why ?
Would the V4 STI Type RA have better cams?
reason is looking for the best combo to use on built motor in std spec
Thanks
-
How does one identify these exact heads over WRX RA and STI ?
thanks
-
that was the rearsk thanks subie can anyone confirm this with a bg5
-
Can people please tell me the size of the rear brake rotors on a
96-98 BG5 Legacy GTB and also a 98+ B4 BH5 GTB want to compare and then compare with mine for a cheap upgrade
or I currently have 288mm Rotors on my rsb is this the largest you can get? as im sure GTB ones are larger with the extra weight over rear wheels
Thanks

what were these oiling modifications or is that a shop secret? lol
-
Id just go with that if you dont have a built motor a good tune will get you there and possumlinks or apexi pfc can be picked up at reasonable prices for a street car the vf23 will be good for response spool and have a decent midrange perfect for a street car
-
what turbo do you currently have? pretty much all of the factory subaru ihi turbos are capable of 200+ kw with a good tune and set up what are you aiming for? gotasuby also had a td05 16g which made 224kw with supporting mods so thats another option and a cheap one at that

ok thanks for the info then dude
-
okay sweet as its all goodude probably the best thing to do here is get the springs checked
what did you end up running anyway?
-
not being smart but how do you know this? do you work for a suspension shop?
It would be pretty dumb to mark all the springs the same though wouldnt it?
-
Can people tell me what spring you have and the corresponding identification dots they have please pics would be a great help aswell
example: 04-07 USDM Sti pinks 1x white dot
mores specificly s203 s204 or anyone who has Tuned by Arias springs in there gdc-f These usualy come on the "pink" sti shocks
-
also royce clive engineering
-
what brand intercooler is that ? and do you run the factory gc8 scoop? watersprayer ?
-
but isnt this how "the bumper shop" operates? you drop the car off and they remove and you drive around? while they fix it
-
here a pic of what im trying to compare with the pics of the springs on the right they have been painted but are black underneath
i also know that these springs fit a bc5 top hat
-
Im after a measurement for a sedan but that could be a goer if the rates are the same ? but guessing not because more weight on the rear of wagon you in chch?
-
trying to identify a spring so I will also need the size of wire OD at the bottom and OD at the top pics needs to be good enough for me to count the coils also an overall height would be great
if you dont know or you think you may please dont answer after someone who has one sitting there in there hand that knows how to measure lol
Cheers
