Cheers for the reply, ended up using this: http://www.dirtyolbc.co.nz/community/topic/329-abs-fault-code-checking/
Turns out it's the left rear wheel sensor

Does anyone know if the temporary fix works?

Hi all, I have a BF5 that intermittently shows the ABS light. It has done this for a fair while now, but still passes WOFs and I specifically asked my mechanic last week to check it out and he claimed nothing comes up in error codes or anything. It definitely feels like the ABS isn't working when the light is illuminated. Does anyone know what this could be? Any help appreciated

Hello, I've got a Manual BF5 that seems to be surging under boost once it's warmed up (almost always is sweet when it's cold). It sort of hesitates and jerks a bit and my boost controller indicates that it's overboosting (the problem existed before the boost controller so unlikely to be that).
The engine is totally standard apart from a HKS EBC running relatively conservative boost levels. I've replaced the AFM a few times so I think we can safely rule that out. I've had people mention coils or spark plugs. Is this possible?
Any help appreciated

Great points actually, forgot that\'s how the AFM works haha. Think I\'ll go EBC and turbo and see what happens from there. Have a boost gauge too. Thanks for the replies

Eh really? Just drop the turbo in without changing a thing? Don\'t think I\'ll do that really

Hi all,
I have a \'91 Manual GT with a stock engine done 145k that I\'ve been slowly collecting bits for.
At the moment I have a TD05 off a V2 STi and an STi RA v2 ECU. I want to keep this as reliable as possible and still pretty quiet whilst obviously having more top end. From what I can gather the injectors are the same between this and the V2 STi, as is the AFM. So I\'m thinking my options are:
1. Chuck in the v2 ECU and turbo, then live with the intercooler pump being on full the whole time and hope that the ECU is a good match
2. Chuck in the turbo and get a decent EBC to regulate boost, hoping that the standard ECU won\'t find this too much of an issue?
At the moment I\'m kind of leaning towards option 2 as I have intermittent boost issues (makes all the noises like it\'s boosting but doesn\'t) that I\'m worried will still be there with the new ECU, meaning heaps more troubleshooting, as opposed to using an EBC which should be regulating most of this stuff itself.
But yeah! Would love anyone\'s thoughts if they\'ve done this or something similar before
Cheers

Nice wiki, maybe change owner's to owners though

Every Subaru I've owned (3 legacy wagons) have had 6"
-
my run around has 380,000km. 2.2l sohc ;D
also my car had 240km before i put new motor in, there was nothing wrong with it
haha wtf why did you put a new motor in then? They do say that the 2.2 SOHC is the most reliable, my one lasted until around 190k without any issue until it was stolen and written off

I got a td05 for 200 and v2 sti ecu for 80, which is pretty good value for that much. That's all I'm gonna do to the engine, gonna keep it with standard intake and exhaust for now

This is the second BF shape legacy I've had and my last one did it too, does anyone know how to quieten down the wind noise? It's pretty loud when it gets to 100k :-\
cheers

pre facelift is 8 bit ECU, facelift is 16bit

No adaptor, you'll have to rewire so much it's probably not worth it
-
Stay away from Uniden bro they are fucking horrible. Mongoose, AVS, Autowatch are your best bet, but you get the most out of an alarm when the person who installs it knows what they're doing more than the brand
-
Yep good point, just worried about burning out the pump is all eh
-
Yo, just about to chuck one of these in my '91 GT and realised that this thing probably won't control the intercooler pump yeah? Saw from the pinout diagram in the legacy thread that it has no provision for it obviously as they had the air to air. What should i do to get around this!?
Cheers

Sweet cheers for the reply, so 2.5" is the standard exhaust size? Wonder how hard it would be to come across a 3 to 2.5 inch hmm

Vibrating coming through wheel when turning at low-medium speed
in Legacy & Outback
Posted
I have a BF5 which appears to vibrate/shake whenever I turn, it also seems to do this a bit when at a standstill. I know it's not wheel alignment, could it be something to do with bushes/joints in the steering?
Any help appreciated
