LOL, at least it's red like the ol' banger

Had an awesome Friday night,
It consisted of a being pulled over (doing 50kms). Then being told the car is stupidly low (police opinion). After poping the bonnet and measuring the cert (on uneven ground like a tipical %^$&), I was told the hight is in but you are getting a green sticker anyway.
Whaatatatt!?! Why?!?!... Oh becasue you have a wastegate. Mate it's capped and wont open. This was followed by a I don't care. I thought police would have a bit more courtesy than this??? Then after being issued with a green sticker and a fine i was confined to a 50km top speed and ordered home... Great..
Now heres the funny bit-
My Ticket says "operating a vechile with no certification" - It's fully certified
The Green Sticker notice says "internally vented waistgate" - This is fully legal.
The police officer didn't give me my licence back and now I have to drop into the station to pick it up in my own time!!
I am writing a letter to get the charges dropped, and in this instance it will almost certainly end in a court hearing. I refuse to be wrongfully walked over by the New Zealand Police. Let along having to get ANOTHER VTNZ WOF!!! ( Now $100 )!!
I'm all for the cops pulling over mongos and stopping robberies and drug dealers and baby snatchers etc etc but in this case I'm on your side Slide...stick it up the nob! Teach him to pick on someone who's actually doing something wrong.

The wife is out this Saturday and I've decided (in other words: I was given permission :-[ ) to have a gaming night which will probably end up being a Forza 4 drag, drift and time trial contest. It will involve booze and fast food and I have 1 bed (the couch) for anyone that wants to crash for the night. PM or SMS me if you are interested and I'll send you the address.
Gaming starts at 6:30 pm.

Here's a list of work to be done to Ol' Banger:
- New clutch
- Fix rocker cover seal
- Cold air induction
- Remove dashboard
- Find a tacho
- Try to make mountings for the choke and bonnet release
It will be de-registered this week so no more running it on the road.

What do you mean possibly wire up the boost solenoid? Would you run it on wastegate pressure otherwise?

I think we have our cruise destination for this Friday. The ol' banger will be coming instead of the mighty Gen 1. Who wants to be passenger or should we have a "rock-paper-scissors" tornament on the night to decide?

'ol banger was awesome last night! It hangs the ass out even though it's front wheel drive and does wicked handbreakies! MintGTB and I were wetting ourselves laughing the whole time! Next stop is Scroggs Hill now that it's been graded.
