hi guys dont know if this is the orrect area to write up about this but ill just chuck it in. im looking at getting a strut brace that does over the engine(is this called an engine strut brace??), my cars a 2001 bug eye wrx and the strut brace that im looking at getting is off a sti chassis. would this fit straight on without any hassle?? e.g. air coler in the road. im not to sure weather the intercoolers are different from an sti and a wrx e.g. postioning and size. and also is a titanium strut brace more stronger than a carbon fibre one. cheers Subleggy

ive got a v4 sti long block sitting in my shed. i ran it in my rs when i had it. it ran on a rs manifold and rs injectors. its done 98,xxxkms. on the down side its got a leak comeing from the rocker cover gasket seals. there was no knocks etc comeing from the engine when i had it running. am located in the wgtn area if you might be interested.

im from upper hutt. ive had a few subarus, iv had an rs and a gt legacy. i now own a 2001 wrx. ive seen a few club sub members cars from wgtn out on the motor way. haha only down side would be every time i see them im never in my car lol

i rung up the shop that does the serviceing to my car. as its a new car for me all the serviceing was done by the last owners service shop which was "vogel Motor services" in wellington. they said they use "valvoline long life coolant". is this a good brand at all??

whoa i didnt know that ya not meant to mix brands!! i think thats what i picked up the other day that "prestones" coolant. it says you can mix it with any other coolant etc. I'm not refilling the whole engine, im only topping up the overflow bottle as the manual said that if the coolant bottle's coolant is below the low mark to top it up too the full mark etc. so yeah am just wondering what to use. thanks for all of the help everybody ;D

hmmm yeah was thinking the same thing about it being so low that it myte have a few scraps on the bottom, same thing happend to my legacy when i had a full car load of people. i didnt know that "fast fours and turbo's" sold unreliable cars. better back out of thinking i can purchase from them. so the interior fades to an ugly colour does it?? havent quite yet desided what to do yet as i dont wanna waste money on something that will turn out to be a lemon(happend twice so far haha)

thats what i was thinking as well. havent exactly confirmed id purchase it though. im more after the common faults that play up on a forester. gotta know about the vechile before i purchase it.

i dont know if it was done properly cos i bought it minus mags, and cambelt had come off and a few other fings as well. stuck a new cambelt on and it fired up on first go and i havent had any problems with it since. so im unsure if it was done properly or not, id just prefer it to go back to looking standard rather than having a ugly green thing in there lol

hahaha thats all goods. yeah i wanna go back to the standard air box as well as ive been told you lose power by going to a pod filter. hmmmm maybe i better check out some trade me auctions on parts for sale

what left over bits do you have?? im after the standard airflow stuff as i wanna get rid of my pod filter. sorry if this is going off topic
