  1. Ah fishing nylon is a good idea, I'll give that a go
  2. I have a BL Legacy with the JDM rain guards. I am trying to fit a whispbar rack to it but I need to remove the rain guards first. Does anyone have any clue how I can do this without damaging them? I can see some clips and some crazy strong glue, any help appreciated
  3. Here is a link to the fitting kit instructions http://www.whispbar.co.nz/instructions/fittingkits/K165.pdf as suggested here http://www.whispbar.co.nz/cars/subaru/legacy/2003/4doorsedan-130727. I have purchased the S6 bar off of trademe already, foolishly without investigating this! I will get a pic of the JDM rain guards this evening
  4. I have a 2003 BL Legacy. I would like to put a prorack roof rack on but the fitting kit seems to hook under the door, which is a problem as I have the JDM rain guards on. Does anyone know if it is possible to put the fitting kit on under the rain guards or do they have to be removed permanently in order to mount the rack?
  5. I was mainly asking around the wear and tear on the car and petrol usage, my googling lead me to believe that its split pretty evenly between people thinking D is better than N and vice versa. I couldn\'t find any proof behind either position though
  6. Just recently upgraded my 96 Legacy GT to a 03 3.0R Its my first automatic car and was wondering what the best thing to do while driving around, if I\'m at the lights do I put in neutral or just leave it in drive?
  7. Im keen for a copy of that disc if its still going
  8. *bump* Anyone got a garage recommendation then? The mountain is calling me
  9. And to make matters worse someone has kindly left a huge dent in the front bumper while it has been sitting there grrr
  10. Yeh? That could be cool! AFM was bought off of trademe and according to seller was working when removed. Unsure of how to tell for sure though. Didn't clear the CEL code, started car up when I replaced it and was still running rough and seemed to be unburnt petrol coming out the exhaust. Tried to start it again last night and the battery/car alarm are fairly dead. Is in far worse shape, could be related to car alarm though. CEL was flashing constantly and a ticking noise coming from somewhere in the dash, couldnt trace the noise. Engine would not turn over
  11. Hi all, Been having some major issues with my car, which started with some surging and rough running and throwing the AFM CEL code. I replaced the AFM and the car is still buggered. With my limited skills and tools Im throwing in the towel and need a garage to take it to What's the best garage in wellington to take it? Close to CBD would be preferable
  12. Yeh I had the pin code, there were bigger problems than that though. Managed to find a guy to come and sort it out (http://www.vehiclesecurity.co.nz/) was 150 all up to fix the alarm and my old remote. Very impressed, highly recommended. Although kinda disappointing that he had my car started and alarm (5 star, professionally installed) bypassed within 5 mins
  13. correct-o, probably should of mentioned that!
  14. Hey so Im having some epic troubles with my alarm at the mo and looking for some advice. I had one of my remotes stolen the other week and didnt buy a replacement, unfortunately now my spare remote has been through the wash and is fair farked! Ive now got a replacement remote but the method to program it in requires me to deactivate the alarm first. I have the pin code ignition sequence to deactivate it but it doesnt seem to work Can anyone recommend a good security/alarm company/guy who would be able to come and check it out? And how much this would cost? Or anyone got any hints on how to enter the pin code correctly? Its a mongoose M60G Cheers
  15. cheers for the replys yeh its for a BG5. Still dont quite understand what you mean: 1) change the screw for a flat/ground down nut 2) plate was made up, screwed into the blocked one, and new mount made, I think it was one plate attached to handle and one to mounting point, then they were screwed together... for 1) I cant actually get any tools/my hand in there! I think it was a fluke undoing it! Did you take the window assembly out as well? for 2) not sure what you mean by this any chance you could do a drawing
