  1. Hi, I haven't had any luck with the keyless entry pin setup on my NZ new BP9, I guess they don't have this feature?
  2. Hi, I got in the car this evening and had the cruise control blinking at me the whole drive home, no check engine light and no unusual behaviour. I have checked it with the scanner and I am getting 'P0030 HO2S Heater control circuit bank 1 sensor 1' come up as pending codes. I cleared them but five mins of running and the code reappeared. Ive had a bit of a look around and this seems like the oxygen sensor will need replacing? I will check the wires/plug and fuse SBF-5 (read it somewhere else) in the morning but just wondering if that sounds right and if anyone else has any insight? Ps. Does anyone know the precise part number of the front oxygen sensor? (NZ new 2005 2.5i legacy)
  3. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew about retrofitting heated mirrors (and maybe power folding) to a 2005 bp legacy. Is wiring there and so it's just a case of new mirrors and a switch or maybe a little more involved? Cheers
  4. All sorted- Front and rear sway bar links were shot, replaced and now its perfect.
  5. I can see from pictures on trade me that the pre-face lift ones have a button but mine just doesn't! Its kind of annoying.
  6. Ive had a bit of a look, Do these sway bar bushings look stuffed? Apart from that I can't find anything loose without lifting it up. Cheers =)
  7. I guess my reason for looking into it was an article I saw a few weeks ago about insurance companies getting out of paying out because of "illegal modifications". I figure that it would be easy for them to measure the tint on the window, and then call it an illegal modification which then invalidates insurance. I have sent a few emails to tinting places to get their take on this.
  8. Hi, I would love to know how to move the car out of park without the key- there are no buttons or anything like the manual suggests. I can turn the car to on without starting it any put it into neutral but then i can't take the key out. Its kind of annoying! Cheers
  9. Did this a while ago but it was the first thing on a new car =D Went from: To:
  10. Hi, I was going to tint my legacy but Ive been doing a little research into it all and from what I can tell, if i put a 35 percent tint (which is the legal minimum VLT value) over my window (which isn't tinted but because all glass has some light loss through it is about 80 percent VLT or so) then my car would technically be illegal: V1 (VLT value of tint) * V2 (VLT of glass) = V3 (final VLT value) So in that situation my actual result would be something like 28 percent VLT which is too low. It seems to me that to be legal I would have to use something along the lines of 45 percent VLT tint film. Has anyone struck this problem or am I missing something perhaps? Cheers
  11. Hi, I have a 2005 BP9, there is a clunking from the front end occasionally that is getting very annoying- It usually happens on severe bumps etc but not always. On non quake ravaged roads it doesn't clunk at all. The clunking can also be felt through the foot pedals. I have looked around a bit but can't find much online about a similar issue, Im going to check the sway bar bushes and end links tomorrow but just wondered if anyone had any good ideas? Cheers
  12. Hi, Are there any Owners manuals available online (PDF etc) to suit the NZ new Legacy 2.5? I have found a few american versions but the instructions don't seem to quite relate. There are a few settings I would really like to change if it was possible- The beeps that go along with the flashing lights on lock and unlock for example, the american menu suggests a sequence on the remote but it doesn't work. Cheers EDIT: Is it actually a BP9? Whats the difference?
  13. Is the power-steering pump on a 1999 Subaru Legacy B4 Non Turbo able to be repaired/over-haulled/resealed or anything? Any help would be very much appreciated!
  14. I know its ages old but wat happened? Ive got a few dents to but I was looking round at these websites that say all you need is a hairdryer and a co2 spray, (fire extinguisher or air duster etc) Does anyone know about this method or better yet tried it?
  15. You should get a quote for a new one, it will be hilarious lol. I got a quote for a new be5 grill, around about $1000. hahahaha
  16. Keltic says: "Especially when removing the snorkus thing gives you a similar sound" What is this and is it possible on the n/a model?
  17. hmmmm, well yea. A small Lake.... (with big ruts in it ;D)
  18. lol, oars would have been useful (See pics in the post ur legacy pics here thread (page 17)) All done, new engine computer and shes completely fine now!
  19. Well, they are AWD.... (Car got stuck, we didnt just stop to admire the view ;D)
  20. Hmmm, I think its a bit past that lol, its all rusted and stuff. Seems like about 250 for a new second hand unit...
  21. Ok, weve got it sorted. The engine control module (Under the carpet at the front of the passanger footwell) was full of water... So I now need a replacement. Does anyone know anyone that has one for sale (BE5 model)?
  22. a simpler solution, instead of getting another key cut would simply be to wrap the head of the key in tinfoil. This works, its a sort of faraday cage.
  23. Yea the engine stopped when we were about 10m from the end of the puddle (puddle would have been a hundred(I suppose it was more like a small lake ;D)). It wouldn't start when it was in the water, but then after we were towed out it went, after a bit of rough running it was fine as. Should get the OBD report tomorrow so hopefully that will tell.
  24. Cheers for all the help guys! My mate emptied all the water from the intake tube that goes from the filter box into the engine. Its all standard as well. Thats the thing JoKer, The fuel pumps don't prime like they used to but there is pressure when you release the cap after attempting to start it. Is this on a different pump or something? Could the fuel filter be blocked because it ran so low on petrol? (Ive never run it that low in the time Ive had it...) Cheers
  25. Hi guys, I was stopped at a round about to give way to other traffic when, without warning, my 1999 Legacy B4 (Non turbo, 2.0l) stopped. The car was in drive at the time and wasn't moving, the engine just simply died... We had to push it away from the round about. Two things happened just before that, firstly about 5 hours before that the car died going through a puddle. We got towed out and my mechanic friend emptied the water and the car ran fine for a good 200 km after this. The other thing is that the fuel light had been on for quite a while before it died at the round about... we actually thought we had run out of petrol... However when we filled the car up at the gas station (which luckily was just across the road) it made no difference. The car will turn over but not start, after a while of turning over the check engine light will come on, also the power light flashes. Battery is definitely fine. The one thing I noticed is that when you turn the key to on but not start the fuel pumps dont make that noise like they used to, but there is pressure in the tanks after cranking. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated Cheers
