  1. ok that does make sense actuator is the word i was looking for I will try disconnecting the hose and see what it does thanks for that. Am I running a risk of damaging the motor running turbos as parellel?
  2. It's definitely a screamer pipe located off the uppipe going to the turbo.
  3. Just got me a set of extractors for my BG TT and fitted them up. The standard up-pipe to the secondary has a waste-gate in it, which the extractors didn't have so I've left this off. What I've noticed is now the primary kicks in a little later but there is absolutely no lag. The secondary kicks in while the primary is at the end of its boost which is nice. Also when I change gear the turbo is already boosting which means I basically have constant boost going on. Feels like my bros WRX (without the smoke trails ). Wondering if anyone else has fitted extractors to TT's and what their take is on them? Also is not having the waste-gate connected going to be bad?
  4. was going to do that but hes real fussy about his car and it would prob be to painful to hear
  5. was looking at doing that if its too much of a mission to do the impreza ones but was just wondering if this has been done and how hard it was
  6. Wanting to upgrade my lights (cause i can ) but notice theres only standard headlights for 95 legacys. Wondering if anyone has tried fitting below headlights into a legacy and if it could work. Ive checked my bros WRX and they seem roughly the same.
  7. http://www.chinajiaho.com/gm-12-pin-to-obd1-obd2-connector-cable_p2298.html can get one here but trying to see if its worth buying before sinking money. Although for the price it is I could just buy and try and if it doesnt work just sell on trademe.
  8. dam i thought as much, do you know if i can use the adaptor to run the software?
  9. Have a 95 RS legacy with this connection Is this and ODBI 1 or 2? reason im asking is my mate was showing me a blue tooth device he connects to it and gets all the read outs on his phone. This would come in handy but tried to connect to mine and didnt look like the connection was there. I have searched web and there are some odbi 1 to 2 converters so I'm wondering if anyone has tried using this and the ODBI 2 connectors together with success?
  10. Thanks for all the help it was the pump. Got one from sub euro 160 :'( but thats the price for needing car up and running now. Thanks for the offers I would have taken the cheaper ones but it would have meant car would be out of action for longer. The 160 was a full kits so basically - unbolted old one from tank - removed - placed new one - bolted up - car starts (a part from flat battery) plus they threw in a free ash tray i needed
  11. sweet thanks for the help would love to get a Walbro but will have to settle for what the parts shop have as i need it up and running now Will get one tomorrow and post how it goes. Thanks for the all the help .
  12. just checked for the earth feed and its working. Did notice that you said the two fat wires. One of the (has yellow on it) gets power when cranking. Then one of the smaller wires has power when ignition is set to "on" is this the way it should be? If so then looks like ill be purchasing a pump tomorrow and doing it after work.
  13. Had a problem last night were I pulled up to my mates house to check out some work he had done. Turned car off and went to go start again. All crank but no start. After fiddling with the Cam and crank sensors and having no luck ended giving up and was going to stay at his house the night and deal with in the morning. By chance I went down and check if it would start 2 hours later and it did. So i quickly got my girls in the car and got car home. Now the car wont start at all. I have pulled of the lines to the fuel filter and cranked engine. No fuel comes out (there is half a tank left in car). Also my brother has a WRX which i checked what his fuel priming sounds like and it is noticable whereas mine does nothing all i can hear is the solenoids at the front of the car. Checked to see if power is gettting to Fuel pump (drivers side behind rear seat????) and power is there when ignition is set to on Does this sound like a fuel pump to all you knowledgeable people out there?
  14. Sorry it is a whitey bluey color Generally from my memory blue = Oil Black = fuel (Running rich etc) white = water
  15. Replaced whole system with 2.5 inch turbos back. Had the middle section back already done and then won a full one piece exhaust from turbos back of trade me for 1.50 ;D took it to pit stop and cost 260 to flange front part and minor tweak to fit. Just looking for some extractors and uppipes to complete exhaust system Sounds better now and boost is more responsive. One worry though is I hit over 15 psi coming home today and think i felt it over spin.
  16. thanks for the replies. Im not too sure if they are the standard heads they have the ht leads not coil packs which points to the GC8 heads (if my memory is right) WRXONP thats some good info and backs up what I was thinking. Definately smokes when given gas. Smokes on start up but after a while it dies down until accel pressed. Car hasnt always smoke only started in the last month or so. He doesnt drive it much and even less now its puffing away.
  17. was wondering the same thing too. Had my middle and rear sections done for 6 months but just got the front pipes done this weekend. Sounds nicer with free flowing pipes so pros outweigh cons
  18. My bros got a WRX GC8 which is pumping out blue smoke. When he first starts it up it starts to smoke a little and then as it gets warmer it just pumps the smoke out until its running temp. Once at running temp it just pumps it out when given throttle. Hes owned the car since March and the guy he brought it off said it had an engine job 20000K's ago (all internals etc). Been a while since I worked in a workshop so my diagnosis skills are what they use to be. What are some simple tricks to tell whats causing it? i.e. rings, turbo etc.
  19. Yip thats a prick of a pipe and annoying to get back on (hand doesnt twist that many angles at once)
  20. i just put a 2nd hand motor in mine mainly due to lack of money and having to take a risk. I still have a 66 issue what did you do to fix yours?

    DIY paint job

Looking at respraying my car in the xmas break but wanting to know if anyone can recommend a type of compressor to buy. There are some compressors on trademe worth a couple hundred with 2Hp and 40ish ltr tanks is this enough to do a full spray on a car?
  22. Poor stuconz Regarding running standard plugs in a turbo Ive always been told this is a bad thing to do and wont allow for peek performance. Sort of like running 91 in these instead of 95 and above. plus stuconz you forgot to mention that the problem wasnt there until you actually put a free flowing exhaust system and removed the cat sensor (located at the start of the middle pipe section).
  23. haha reminds me when i worked for Harbour city and the first Blitzens came out. Guy had one for about a month and was rammed up the backside. Took 3-4 weeks to get shipped in from overseas and 3-4000$$4 (insurance). Two weeks later he was back with the same problem dont think insurance company was happy.
  24. If you dont want that Ill be keen for it just put a 18 on one side be nice to have correct pair on car
  25. Update on this issue as stated in other thread I've been too busy on a project to do anything else but since then I have: Replaced spaghetti black box and no success there tried cleaning them out via previous post (thanks for that some really good stuff in there) Primary Turbo spat the dummy on me so I had to replace that. It had siezed up for some reason. Replaced with a VF18. While replacing the turbo I noticed that the high presssure oil pipe didnt drip and oil when taking off. Put turbo all back together and got boost back but the problem is still there. Here is a break down of the problem as it stands: When driving on a straight or downhill if I put my foot down I get boost on primary. If there is any incline the boost isnt there. Would a partial blocked high pressure oil pipe to primary cause this? All that is left is the ECU and piping that I can think off. Really tearing my hair out with this one as no matter what I do it doesnt fix the issue. Doing an oil change this weekend so will undo the high pressure and start car to see if oil spits out of and how much. Anyone fighting or has fought with the same issue that can shed some light on this?
