    BD and BG Bonnets

Looking at an after market bonnet for a 95 BD sedan found one but it says BG to my knowledge there isnt any difference can someone confirm this?
  4. Thats a nice bumper where did you get that from?
  5. that sucks all the effort to find a nice car and a day is all you get. Good luck but id say its gone now. Those tracking things sound like a good idea though that way if mine ever does go I can find it pretty fast and retrieve it as cops are really proactive enough. Had my car broken into and they didnt even bother coming and finger printing let alone viewing it. Said and I quote "It'll be a waste of time and we're too busy" wtf
  6. Whats wrong with your exhaust? is it leaking or you looking at upgrading?
  7. Jack Daniels in porirua is all good if your looking for cheap the guy owns it free hold so quotes on the spot. Was half the price from my other quotes. Had to make him redo some but he did it at no extra cost and didnt complain (that I know off anyways)
  8. Ok found the no turbo issue it was a vacuum hose coming from the spaghetti black box next to the airbox and going into the side gaurd had come of. That gave me my turbos back. Now I am back to my original issue where up the gorge check engine comes on and goes into limp code given is 66. From that article in my prev post it sounds like what I was orignally saying.
  9. Ok things just keep getting worse I took the batt of all night last night to reset to comp. In the morning I have put the batt back on and gone to work on the drive the engine codes didnt come up .... but ... i have no boost what so every boost gauge barely reads 1 psi now so turbos are not working. Had a look under bonnet and cant see anything loose. Tried to source a vacuum hose tester but had no luck super cheap and repco dont have them. On way home drove up a steep hill to see if i could get check engine and it did. got home and getting code 66. Put my prev afm on and still getting no boost so it seems like something has gone horribly wrong. Anyone know where to start with this one? oh and I did find this http://bbs.scoobynet.com/general-technical-10/356320-fault-code-66-import-legacy-gtb.html which is somewhere for me to start i guess
  10. Things have changed since i was in trade then. Use to only be power steering leaks could be failed. I had leaking gaskets for about 4 Wofs before I got them done
  11. Just took for another drive after taking the black box of and making sure that connection is tight. had a look at the hoses and they all seem fine, but you cant really tell just by looking at them Im thinking its possibly turbos or vacuum or both so I'll source/buy a vacuum pump tomorrow and go through the fun task of testing all for leaks. Will keep posted.
  12. Yeah the black box know about that have wanted to avoid that as itll be a nightmare. Was going to reset the comp tonight and see what codes come up tommorrow. [quote name='Drunkenmonkey said: Make sure ypu plugs are connected properly as it sounds like something coming lose on an up hill Quite funny you mention this as wehn i changed the afm i accidentally removed a square plug which loops in the middle afm and plugs into a plug next to the black box was thinking of clamping it tight somehow and seeing if i still get the issue.
  13. 700$ come up and Ill do it for half the price just did mine recently and also did the ones on my previous motor supercheap 50$ each side. Just make sure you get the rubber washers for the bolts and the middle sections for the plugs. Also chuck some red gasket sealand on the corners on the gaskets just to make sure. 30 mins if you know what your doing. [quote name='JoKer said: smoke and embarrisment at the lights burning smell - possible fail wof Haha the embarrisment is what made me finally do mine also you cant fail a warrant because of it.
  14. Hi Im new to this site but know a little about subarus as I did my apprenticeship on them but I'm a little stuck with this one and was wondering if someone could help. I have a 95 RS BG5 which is pretty standard engine wise. I've had a check engine problem which puts me into limp mode when going up hills especially the Gorge in wellington. I have checked the codes and there are a couple of them (in the order they came out: 45 23 12 61 62 63 64 65 66 67 I have had this for a while but have finally gotten sick of it. Since starting to get it I have replaced my motor(crank siezed) and got a second hand motor which had means everything under the bonnet has been replaced except the turbos and airflow meter. Today I replaced the airflow meter and had no luck with that. This points me to the Turbos which if Ive read right is the code 45 pressure sensor. Ive been out of the trade for a while can someone please help me with this issue. Regards, Jamie
