JE pro seal fire ring head gaskets

Do they require block machining? I've been looking into The Athena ones! But haven't committed yet.

& does the block require machining for the RCM 14mm-12mm head studs? Probably kill a few birds at a time?

is there a certain time duration? wonder if could be o2 sensor or something as it goes from open to closed loop

Hmmmm, yes it may be that too..... Had crossed my mind but then I wasn't sure if the link used it.

As I watch the temps go up & the numbers count down, there is a definite engine note for each adjustment as it progresses through the range & the wideband afr go from rich to lean too.

    o2 could be a possibility,

  3. Gidday all,

It's been a while, Right I'm looking for some info/additional input for a possum link cold start issue I've started to notice.

so I start the car & it runs as it should, & then as it starts to warm up it gets a little bit rougher running & gets to the point where it's missing & hesitating.

so I can see when I start the car from cold the temps at 14 degrees & I suppose the links compensation number is say 34.

now as the temps rise that compensation number comes down 1 for every two degrees (say 16 degrees is 33 & 18 degrees is 32 & so on & so on)

so its when it gets upto 60-70 degrees & the numbers get down to 2-1-0 where I have the hesitation & missing ect AFR's get all over the show get pretty lean ect.

so its not, spark plugs, coils, head gaskets, fuel pump & pressure, injectors, tps, Iacv.

Could it be coolant temp sensor??

    Cheers CUDDAS

Who else is still sad enough to have the same car that they started here with? Haha #myhandisup

(I couldn't figure out how to fix my thermostat and it took me hours!)

I too still have my first Subaru UU3777 aka DQGB0X, I brought it back in 1999.

I remember my second track day in chch (can't remember the year now) was a combined track day with NZ hondas?? Pretty sure wrxer ran it, I blew the power steering hose & caught fire!! My brother (in law) had his ef civic -that is quick.

It was not long after that, that I discovered there were clubs with online forums & the rest is history

  5. Went into my old work & did both lower control arm bushes, put a new tire on & wof done.

Turned up only to see a nice original 1991 BC5 RA on the hoist havin a wof done, nice gold top mount ic & gold heads too was pretty special imo. also came home to find a package containing a boot lever assembly for the DQGB0X... anyone with my era bc5 that has a boot lever is doing well B)

Gator that looks mint, i replaced a tyre i wrecked during a sealed motokhana, i was pleasently suprised (read fuckenstoaked) how easy it lights up the tyres & how well it responds to a flick of the hand brake & a clutch kick then its out & around the cone she goes but not as easy as ken block makes it look, so i might do the 1/4 mile sprints in a couple of weeks now

  7. Can you over oil feed your turbo?

Thinking my turbo was getting over it for the last few years as it has been seeping oil into the exhaust housing & the smell has been fucking me off for ages so i finally went a bit bigger & bought a new one for it. But when i was setting up for my new turbo i also replaced my oil feed line to find the banjo feed from the engine was not the filtered one i had on there all those years ago. so a bit of rummaging around through my assorted boxes of fittings i found it, resumed to clean up & refit the turbo & exhaust.

it doesn\'t seem to be seeping the oil it had been.

i didn\'t take a pic to compare but the banjo with the filter has a small pin sized hole & the one i removed had a larger hole through both sides like a water feed.

  8. Yes.. buy that white wagon the white pearl looks mint in the sun & I\'ve only seen a couple of others with it another wagon & a sedan, that is my favorite colour in white

unless you want to spend a bit more & have a pearl white sedan ;)

my hx20 is amazing on gas but rather my legacy for long trips

dave my we honda is good on gas...

i use 5.9L per 100km in my 76 honda civic at open road travel, i use it for work & then every fortnight to travel 309km one way from ashburton to the coast & do it in 3 hours only half an hour slower than the BC & goes round corners almost as well so can\'t complain about that.

Gator i\'d choose a tidy BC5 over the GC be it an RS GT or VZR non turbo 4wd as there are not as many about as i\'d like to see & well with a little supportive attention it\'ll still put a smile on ya face when you take it out for a strop.

    i am biased but i would like a 22B that\'s about it though. :)

  10. If you have a lsd rear diff, you don\'t put the space saver there, space saver on the front & fuse in.

& i thought that the towing issue with fuse in was for the raised front wheels on a dolly type -Like behind a tow truck?

Mine was put on transporters when diffs blew nothing good happends towing them lile that :)
