  1. Each to their own, I wouldnt worry about the slight differences between models. Get something that a) you like b) has good k's or service history and appears to be well looked after. At the end of the day, you can add mags, springs and mod it how you wish
  2. Yeah, Im biased, the blitzen is one of the sexier legacy front ends. The jury is out on the spoiler, but why be normal? No difference in power, but the late 01/02 model gets the ECU that can be tuned - so that would be a preference
  3. Blitzens are pretty much cosmetic - bilstein suspension, alloys and a body kit. You might find them with the original double din sony minidisc, but usually swapped out for a better stereo. Late 01/02 models changed to a normal spoiler and added driving lights.
  4. Save money, you could pick up a set of oars for $100.
  5. Pretty hard to machine when bent, so thatd be out of the equation. Can you hear it at low speed? ie drive past someone so they can listen to it and work out which side it is for starters
  6. One side or both? certainly didnt do it here. Bigger disc not contacting the stone guard?
  7. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=216615 See what sort of deal Optical can give ya ;-)
  8. They are a Carson 18x7.5 6 pots ftw! ;-)
  9. Brembo ftw :-) Are they better? Hell yeah! Do you need them? not really. At the end of the day, a good set of 4 pots with good pads and fluid will outperform a good set of 2 pots. Larger discs provide more stopping power than the 294mm standards. Keep an eye on trademe for the standard subbie 4 pots, theyll bolt straight in
  10. Yep, no problem with the downpipes, they just hang there ;-) All of the angles at the bottom were totally wrong - pretty much had to make a complete new y piece
  11. Rage make a reasonably priced one for the B4, make sure you specify manual or auto. I had huge problems making mine fit, but Rage came to the party and paid to have it corrected.
  12. http://autospeed.com/cms/title_TopMount-Trial-Part-Two/A_1619/article.html
  13. Still trying to find the sarcasm? Sounds like good advice ;-)
  14. Look forward to seeing them finished ! I gave up trying to find a decent gold touchup paint for brembos, not easy it seems
  15. Awww, I miss my crappy paint job :-) What type of caliper paint are you going to use? The gloss is suitable with brake dust?
  16. As a minimum, I would photoshop out the number plate if posting for sure.
  17. Detonation? Big end? run.......
  18. If you are planning on tuning the ECU, then you will have to make sure you have a ECU that can be tuned. 01/02 was the change over year if I remember correctly. At the end of the day, a couple of g will get you a tuned twin with no more potential. The same money will get you a single with more future tuning potential and more parts options. I know which way I would go.....
  19. +1 on the single turbo. The twin is complicated and youll never get peak power out of it. Its a safe bet to say most tuners would be happier playing with a single "taking handling and durability into account here" A 200kw twin would be as durable as a 200kw single (unlikely.....) Your stock power at the wheels will more than likely be 140-150kw as a base. Apart from the exhaust, none of your mods will have any or little effect on power. If you are even thinking of a front mount, then plumbing it into a single will be an easier upgrade path.
  20. Ive had to replace the same sensor in the past. Its on the firewall on the passengers side (in a BE). Dont bother asking what a new genuine part is worth unless you have health insurance.
  21. Bro, someones put a 6 speed knob on it to jack up the price. If not, you will have to open your wallet some more.... So anyways.... how fast is 'boostin it' to want to change into 6th on the motorway? I kinda figure youll get at least 6 months of no driving to fix that puppy when it goes pop......
  22. I said it was slight ;-) However you also have to consider ambient temperature and heat soak of the standard vs ducted when stopped as well. I can certainly feel the extra 0.1 horsepower so mock all you want
  23. You are getting colder air from ducting through the guard - so thats a bonus, however slight it might be
  24. Any error codes? Check all the vacuum tubing is all still connected (especially the t piece off the BOV)
