yea that suks big time with magnatec, the current valvaline is 5l tho, which i got on special for around $45 i think and magnatec was $30 odd but i would have needed another 1L

duno what the mechanics used when did last oil change, i did it this time, i usually use 10w 40, never really boost tho,
that 10w 60 the race engine?

yup i have the catalogue here Jase. I might go through it more carefully and work out which factory rotors also correspond but at a glance looks to be BE/BH legacy onwards.
And v7/8 WRX onwards.
updated with correct rotor size required for each
i also herd that about the BE/BH gtbs but when asked on here was told not so, but its only the rotors on them that would fit a ver5 sti

Yup and I have done the searches and read the write ups. But its still pretty confusing with most of those threads having someone piping up disputing whats been said. But I am pretty sure I have it nailed now.
Still an intimidating mod for someone who has never removed a hub before mate. Some of us aren't quite so willing to jump in with both feet and have a go or lucky enough to have someone near by to help if a mistake is made but are getting there
Not having a dig bro, just pointing out you have done it before hence it is now easy and from your write ups you have been lucky enough to have another set of eyes on a lot of your work. Wish I did to, if all else fails someone there to look at at it and brainstorm with can be massive help.
Appreciate the CS help though, thats massive to.
im also in the same boat, good mate of mine is a mechanic who now lives 2 hours away and was a great help/ done alot for me, but now its just me and best part is, the wife use's the sti most days and i cant have it in bits not knowing what to do next
but yes funky pics would be a huge help, cheers bud

some V8+ wrx came/comes with 4pot fronts and 2pot rears (i think it was an add-on optional when buying a new JDM wrx) thoes still had R160 diff/hubs, but their hubs has the correct mounting for the rear 2pots but still uses the 290mm rear rotors with 170mm E-brake shoes.
Yours v6? should have the same rotor (290mm with 170mm shoes) but your hubs would be different, so in order to put rear Subaru 2pot you either need a V8+ hub off a wrx that came with 2pot rears OR use adapters.
yup i know that also some ver7 WRX got 2pot rears also, thats what ive been looking for

as long as there the same "ie" directional and have the same or similar speed rating, must be within 2, like a 83v and 85w there ok
found out last week as i needed a new tyre and tyre guy explained it to me
also if there directional they must be on the correct way ;D

i just cleaned the sliders and re-greased them, checked under the rebber seal for any crap and was ok, pushed the piston out 2 make sure was working then pushed back in sweet as, there ok now

put it in gear and rock it a few times then try start it, every subaru ive had ive had to do the starters, easy as 2 remove and about $150 to replace if u get shop 2 fix or around $50 2nd hand
think there was a thread on here about removing them and replacing the bushes
