  1. Thanks Andy_Mac, had a look like you suggested and the fuse marked as "backup" blew. Replaced it and now the stereo and AC is working, however theres no lights on the buttons. Ill check tomorrow in day light for more fuses. My car didtn even lock, but it does now with the new fuse
  2. Hey guys, bought a new 2006 Legacy model last week, tried installing a new head unit. I had to do some wiring so I bought an extra plug for the consoles' plug so I dont have to solder on the cars' wires. Got the new unit in, check if everything was ok and the console didnt power on. I took everything out and plugged the console's plug back in and still no power at all. Is it possible a fuse couldve blown or another problem in the console occurred? I checked the fuses and they looked ok.
  3. Cant truly answer that one as I don\'t know too much about the ecu\'s.However same problem happened with me, checked the codes and was 22 as well. Went one like that for probably a week when the CEL came on and off intermittently, mostly when driving 100km/h. Changed the knock sensor straight away which fixed the problem. CEL never came on again and no more sluggish or jerkiness. So I\'d say replace it if it continues happening. Just my 2cents
  4. Thats the problem,no sure way to find out.Ill have a look, see I can find replacement parts for cheap. If not Ill take the car in for a scan. Thanks anyway
  5. Thanks Wiretap.Ill look into those things and see if they are the problem. Do they have any signs of failure on them or is it just a case of replacing them and see if they work?
  6. Good day. I've been having a problem with my 1999 B4. It ran beautiful for a year and 3 weeks ago it stared with its bitch fit. So basically I start the car,the starter turns and the engine fires. As soon as it fires and actually runs for a second, everything dies. The electronics on the dash, radio and engine just dies. With the key still in the ignition, 2 seconds later everything comes back to life, I hear a sound like something is loading/powering up and the electronics are back. When I try and start the car again, the starter turns, the engine fires slightly and everything dies again. This went on for 3 tries, 4th time I gave a little gas when it started to fire and the revs jumped up to 2300.The gas I gave was not enough to throw it up to that revs but 1500.After this the damn thing runs fine with no problems. Every time this happened it was in the morning and it was cold.It only happened three times so far and every time in the morning.Today it happened twice, once at home when I went for a WOF at 7am and 45mins later when I left the garage. When I start the car later in the day its fine with no problems at all. What on earth can the problem be?Is it the cold, spark plugs, fuel pup, crank sensor? I might take it in for a scan but Id love to get help first, see if I can fix it instead of paying $80 for a scan.
  7. Hey,need some advice to confirm or smash my assumptions. So at the moment, when I start my car and start driving, the clutch pedal is nice and soft and the clutch basically engages as soon as I let go of the pedal. So to my knowledge that's called the clutch takes low. When I drive around for a while pressing the pedal becomes a bit harder, almost like there's more force pushing the pedal back, and my clutch takes higher when I have the pedal almost fully released. Does this make sense or should I start drawing pictures Will a clutch bleed fix this?
  8. So what type of end pipe would I be looking for thats not that hard to find? ;D
  9. Well Ill ask a question then ;D Is there a way to get a deeper engine rumble?Im not a pro on upgrades etc, Im assuming some muffler or exhaust will work.
  10. Great, thanks Joker and Clintondane Im planning on doing a oil change on my car this week.Should be fun ;D
  11. I have two questions today. 1. Would 5w-30 engine oil be the right grade of oil for my Legacy B4 1999? 2. Where on earth can I find the meaning of my VIN number?Ive done a lot of searches but cant find a decent decoding list to an exact match. Most VINs on the information I find start with a J1F or something like that, mine doesnt look like that. The number I have on the Subaru plate under the hood looks like this BE5-######.The VIN I have that is from the NZ govt is a long one but will that give me infor about the engine etc?
  12. I can imagine man. What a load to drive around, but the Subarus can handle it.My baby just wanted to run even though I had the boat on.Uphills was no problem, boy can these cars drive ;D
  13. Whoa!thats just awesome!I love Subaru haha.What power!
  14. Hahaha yea to be honest me too.So I'll stick to the 90's
