  1. We are doing Fortune Auto coilovers. Which are all custom valved to get the best quality ride and performance. I would not touch the other cheaper brands out there if your after a quality ride with shocks with who knows what spec. Just look here for details: http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,25268.new.html#new
  2. Def used matched suspension as they will have valving and springs rates to work with each other correctly.
  3. You guys may want to look into Fortune Auto USA Coilovers. www.facebook.com/fortuneauto www.fortune-auto.com Great reviews across the USA, people selling their BCs to get these as they feature 50mm digressive shock piston technology. This means a way better quality ride. The only other brands that feature this technology is Bilstein & Konis etc. They specifically valve the sets to the cars weight distribution etc, not generic valving like the others.
  4. I used both Redline and Motul. Redline is great, for about 1-1.5 years. As told by many other racers it ends up polishing the syncro cones therefore syncros cant grip well enough, therefore not being able to select gears very good. I since changed to motul and after 1 year there have been no more syncro issues. Normally Motul is around the $43 a liter for the gear FF
  5. Cusco and HKS twins are super $$$. Autoclutch is great, until something goes wrong with a clutch and they tell you to get F*****. Dont get me wrong, great products, but customer service is really poor. They cancelled my dads account and we have no idea why, he made up some story saying this and that, honestly I think he got us mixed up with another one of his customers!!! Anyhow, if we need to go through them we use a 2nd party. I custom make Quartermaster twin plate kits to suit any model car (price starts at $1700 with a custom billet flywheel!). Would love to have the chance to do a Subaru conversion. Sold SO many Evo conversions now and everyones super happy with the results - Alot of these guys had HKS ones which destroyed them selves. You cant really go wrong if top tuners in NZ like Speedtech and Edgell use Quartermaster on their cars .
  6. Even buying in a barrel $30 is still too low. Unless they are getting some crazy special pricing that I dont know of or they are passing it off at some sort of cost price. Even so shops are meant to be selling it near Motuls RRP which is $54.53+gst.
  7. $30 for Gear FF type 1 or 2. Now thats def not right. I also deal Motul products from Motul NZ. Or are you talking about just Motul gear, not gear FF??
  8. Gear FF seems to be the go these days. Seems like most racers are using it.
  9. The shock proof stuff initially works well. But over a period of time it kills all the syncros and syncro cones. As in the cones are left with a mirror finish therefore the syncro cant grip onto them properly. Think you can find this info with other cars doing a google search. I've since switched to Motul Gear FF type oils and its much better. Although costs a little more.
