  1. I'll hopefully be running the GTS-4 there. Fear the mighty stock GTS-4!!!
  2. Okay, date is pretty much set for Sunday 21st November. More details to come when i get time.
  3. I was kinda disappointed by the amount of cars that were racing. Only 39. Last year i entered both my Skylines and they had the numbers 50 and 51 on them cos i was the last to arrive. Was going to race my brothers Mk IV Supra this year but couldn't afford the $40. Will be racing next year, kinda boring to watch as they seem too slow. Would be good to see some of you guys racing instead of watching too.
  4. Awesome, cheers for the support. Got your number Ray, so will get around to texting you at some stage. Gonna have a chat to someone from the Hospice when i can to see what they think, then eventually go talk to the ODT or someone maybe and get an article done. Kinda wanting to do this to get more publicity for Southern Skylines too, but hey.
  5. Working. Plus its my girlfriends birthday. And i prefer the grasskhana at the Taieri Wings & Wheels. Don't need a helmet or overalls (have both, but still). And there's no extra cost. You guys should join us there next year and have a CS display.
  6. Just an idea i randomly came up with at work last week. Who here would be interested in being in a meet/convoy of modified/performance cars all in the aid of charity, this time being the Otago Community Hospice (since Mum was there for the last few weeks of her life). Was thinking of having each driver pay a minimum of $5 (anything more is accepted of course) to participate in the parkup and cruise, and maybe any passengers can donate either a gold coin minimum, or $5 again. Another idea is that if members of the public want to have a ride in any of the cars during the cruise (proviso the car owner is happy) then they can pay a few $$ for the charity too. This may open the event up to more of the general public. Then pretty much do the same cruise loop as the Special Rigs for Special Kids (out to Mosgiel via motorway, then back over Three Mile Hill to the Edgar stadium). Its just an idea at this stage, but i honestly think that with enough support and publicity it could turn out quite well. Mainly wanted to do this to show that modified car owners are usually 'normal' people and thats where the charity donation comes in (rather than just being a big cruise of modded cars). Will be open to any modified/performance cars (imports, Ferraris, HSV's and FPV's, American muscle cars, Mercs etc etc) too, so that more cars can come along. Opinions? I'm very seriously thinking of going ahead with it anyway, even if we only get a handful of cars. I mean, why not?
  7. Another awesome road is the newly sealed Taieri Mouth to Waihola road. A lot of fun there (we cruised along there on our last SSE meet).
  8. Yeah, that EVO is awesome. Looks almost bog standard from the outside.
  9. Aaaah yup. Track is slippery alright. Did four runs and lost traction each time (barely revving to 4k?), even after doing a wee skid. Best was a 17.3, which was when i was racing a fellow SSE'rs 600kW+ GT-R. NEARLY had him too. *cough* Okay, he'd been finished for a second by the time i got to the halfway mark, but still. His best time was against me, did a 10.6 on 18 pounds of boost, not running the normal 40 pounds though. I had a lot of fun, might race my brothers Mk.IV Supra next year.
  10. Can someone please video the white R33 GT-R there (in pic below)? I'll be working.
  11. Ah well, not really out to better my time or anything, just to legally plant the foot a wee bit and have a bit of fun. Even though i only got up to about 130 km/h last time i raced it. Think it was 160 km/h i got to in the GTS-4.
  12. I am serious. My best is 16.41 at the Dunedin drag racing earlier in the year and the best its done is a 16.1 or something at Meremere by the previous owner. Is only a GTS remember, non turbo 2.0l. 155 hp from factory.
  13. I'm racing my GTS (red Skyline in avatar) there this year. Mmm, 16's.
  14. Saturdays i can make it, work on Sundays though. Grasskhanas are a hell of a lot of fun, done them for the last two years at the Taieri Wings & Wheels show.
  15. Not Scoobies, but i did a 16.27 in my R32 GTS-4 Skyline, and 16.41 in my R32 GTS Skyline at the same event on Dukes Rd in the Taieri Plains (just out of Mosgiel). Best verifiction everyone got was the times written on a whiteboard (which i took a pic of).
  16. Think a guy from SSE will be entering in his R33 GT-R. Used to race RX-7's there back in the day and did pretty good, but said the GT-R is quicker and better geared. Where can you spectate from?
  17. If i didn't have the Alex drags later this month i prolly would pull a sicky. Well, i'd apply for leave anyway.
  18. All vids up now. Did they run your car once or twice? The MR-2 there only gun run once, everyone else seemed to get two (one after the other). We left just as your car was being driven in (station wagon?).
  19. A lot of nice Skylines and other cars turned up (not for dyno), videoed most of them until i had to leave (missing a couple of Supras in the process). Dodge Charger (General Lee paintjob) - 159.9kw - Subaru Impreza WRX - 199.9kw - Toyota MR-2 Turbo (ToySpeed) - 84.6kw (boost controller probs?) - R32 Nissan Skyline GTS-t - 220.0kw - Honda Integra Type R (ToySpeed) - 130.1kw - Honda Civic Turbo - 175.1kw - Honda Civic - 137.0kw - BA Ford Falcon XR8 - 234.2kw - Nissan 180SX (ToySpeed) - 150.3kw - Toyota Starlet GT - 116.0kw - Toyota KE25 (ToySpeed) - 115.8 - R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R - 414.6kw - Toyota Hilux V8 - 166.0kw - Toyota Celica GT-Four A (ToySpeed) - 137.3kw - Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IV - 292.0kw - Holden Commodore SS - ???kw - Nissan Silvia S14 - 262kw - R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R (SSE) - 553.0kw, with wheelspin on low boost... -
  20. Yeah, was talking to the MR-2 owner (unless there was another one) for a while, comes along to ToySpeed meets. Very nearly put my Skyline on it, woulda only done about 108kw though maybe.
