  8. Hey guys, After original dramas with car its now sweetas with power etc. Looking at stiffening up suspension to make it corner better and got some advice from good dude at mag n turbo who recommended Tein Springs and from and rear adjustable sway bars as standard ones wiggle heaps and also re valving (I think?) the Bilsteins to make em stiffer. Was told no point getting coilovers unless prepared to get something like Tein Adjusties which cost like 4K certed... Is this a good idea to make it better for the track or are there other things should look at as well like these Nolathane bushes etc. Thoughts welcome
  9. Go to Garry Capper imo at Possum Bourne in Puke. He reflashed my legacy after I put on Intercooler full exhaust boost controller etc (got to about 210kw atw being a manual) and he said half of it wasn't needed and he has heaps of 2nd hand sti parts you can use so saves on the dollars... but yeah intercooler, exhaust and hks panel filter in the air box can't go wrong
  10. Give Garry Capper A ring he explained it all to me a while back and yeah he said for the most part just need much bigger injectors and a reflash/tune but you get pretty significant gains. Think he quoted me an evo they tuned which was 300Kw atw that went to 400+Kw atw just from e85 plus some stupidly sized injectors like 2000cc or the like but very thirsty on the juice.
  11. Went back to STHITEC and he gave me full refund which I thought was very professional of them to admit they hadn't achieved a satisfactory result to good to know there are honest businesses out there. On another note anyone going to playdays trackday tomorrow at Hampton Downs???
  12. These meant to be very differnt from the Blitzen ones?
  13. Get your O2 meter checked, had mine replaced and made a shiite load of difference get about 8.5L/100km half open road half town with reasonable mods
  14. STHITEC said they would do a power run for free after the first time they tried it so maybe get them to do it then there is no way to argue anything else? Anyway hope for the best as STHITEC one was $970<---Made car slower..... Capper $800<--- made car faster
  15. So interesting News... Got message from Garry Capper and he's reflashed car and now producing 205-210Kw atw up from 132Kw atw when done at STHITEC so my prob is now do I go back to STHITEC and ask for a refund since they so royally mashed it up. Has anyone had something like this happen and got anywhere by asking for refund? Very happy with outcome now tho so thank you for mentioning Garry Capper Performance
  16. What are the differences between the vf 36 and vf 37 turbos and if you had a choice which is better/ more reliable? guys at spec 2 are all good, they've checked over everything with no questions asked and apart from less power than expected it sounds awesome (best part is doesn't have subaru burble no offense to those that like it)
  17. Have car back, mechanically everything checked over and fine so not the issue so booked into Garry capper performance next week for re dyno so fingers crossed that's the issue....
  18. No as the fabrication work and dyno were done in two separate places Spec 2 then STHITEC for tune. Guy at STHITEC thought there might be issue with the intercooler, anyway car is back in shop so they can figure it out so fingers crossed as not too happy atm
  19. On another note if spec 2 cant find out what the issue is what is a good place to take it to? Was thinking Speed source but somewhere in Auckland would be nice
  20. Had look at turbo but all I can see is 513 04h. Yeah I'm sending it Back to Spec 2 today because he was expecting 180kw atw as well so he can get to the bottom of it. I'm just assuming they are going to find what went wrong and fix it so I can move onto next upgrades
  21. Not sure which turbo it is exactly, how can I find out without peeking at it as not sure can get close enough? I don't mind spending a bit to get a decent new one or 2nd hand one off sti maybe? Just don't want to over do it and get something that I would then have to go and change and whole host of other things but rather just maximize the power and response potential of what engine can currently handle
  22. Hey guys, Second thread I've posted on here and now looking for a bit of advice on a suitable turbo upgrade for my 06 B4 (currently still has standard turbo) that will fit well with modifications I have done so far and without having to change engine internals etc. Mods List so far: Downpipe + full 3inch exhaust sard Fuel pump Sard Fuel pressure Bigger top mount intercooler HKS panel filter in air box HKS Boost controller HKS BOV ECU Reflash
  23. Was Tuned at STHITEC on Sylvia park road. boost controller comes up with max value of 14.3PSI when i last looked and the tuner said they tried higher but the turbo couldn't handle it or something. Forgot one more mod just an HKS filter in the standard air box as they recommended leaving it in over POD filter. I'm pretty new to tuning cars so a bit clueless in some respects but just know that with everything done and its now a bit slower if anything apart from the earlier spool time.
