Where did you guys get the nav / tablet surround. Mine currently has factory nav buttons on the bottom.
  2. No luck, managed to find a second hand one down in CHCH from the wreckers. Out of a 2005 Outback (same model). Subaru Wellington said it is an internal fault and cannot be repaired.
  3. Yea real weird, how did you get car phone on yours?
  4. So casually revesrsing out of a carpark and all of a sudden my radio just turned off by itself. Like most the radio is always on and starts automatically when the car is started. However, now it just shows \'SUBARU\' and no radio. To resolve I: - Tried turning the unit off and on - Turned the car off and on - Turned the car off pulled the key and turned on - Checked the fuse under the steering wheel \'navi/radio\' and was all good Any thoughts? I don\'t have the cash at the moment to buy a new head unit and install. Few more details: Subaru Legacy 3.0r 2003 Standard head unit Cheers
  5. Yea have seen that. I am thinking of a different route however. I'm not to phased about the gps feature therefore I might utilize the video out plug on the back of the sat nav. Running that to a media player and picking up sound by installing an Anycar link http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-stereos/other/auction-458580852.htm I will run the Anycar cable to the centre console to allow ipod connection and the 3.5mm jack to the media player. I assume I will have to manually switch between them however. What do you guys think?? Where can you get video out cable (yellow composite) from? I can't see one on the dick smith website?
  6. Hi all, So I have been trolling the threads for about a week now, searching for info on the factory Japanese satnavs. I am aware that it is not as simple as inserting a DVD into the unit and it automatically changes the language. And I'm not a big fan of pulling the hole screen out and inserting a aftermarket portable gps. I went down that track with my previous car without great success as the unit could not pick up satellites due to being embedded within the dash. So my question is...has anyone utilized the factory screen in a 2003-2004 model legacy to play movies etc? What connections does the unit have at the rear? Does it have a video in port as per the 2005 screen? Any help would be much appreciated. I don't want to pull the unit out if there are no usable ports in the back of the unit. Cheers.
