  1. Which are you referring to then? If you mean the ESL stuff that Ive seen a few people recommend them for v5/6 tuning, I dont think those people have actually checked whether Raijin do it or not. Unless something has changed in the last week or so since I emailed him. "$650 for pre 99 Impreza/Forester/Legacy." which doesnt include v5/6 "Hi Adam Thanks for getting in touch. The v5/6 impreza ECUs can only be remapped via Ecutek at the moment and I am not currently a dealer of Ecutek flash products. ESL are working on a daughterboard for your model of ECU which should hopefully be out over the coming months. Hope this helps. Cheers Alistair" Which is why I was asking about peoples experience with ecutek. Thanks.
  2. Has anyone had one of these done, even better if on a v6/6 STI? im leaning towards this instead of an aftermarket ecu mainly due to cost/mods done, as I dont see myself changing the turbo or anything in the near future so a link seems a bit of an overkill expense. Just sticking with 2.5in exhaust/intake/bigger fuel pump etc. Just somewhere round the 200kw mark will be fine. Worth doing for the price? if I can find a cheap PFC or possum link or something again id look into that, but the v6 stuff doesnt seem to come up very often, at least from my searching.
  3. Plus after 80000+kms its probably lost a bit of power too.. Hopefully my brand new block will give me a little bit more power than the 150kw my old v6 block gave me
  4. Hmm, might have to enquire, seems excessive spending 2k on a link+1k on a tune just for mild mods.
  5. Pre 99 tuning? does this mean theres still noone near auckland that can tune a v6 sti
  6. Yep, went to Wairau Paint Centre and gave them my vin colour code, got two cans of colour + primer and gun attachment for $90. Colour match seems close enough.
  7. Did a quick touchup on bumper so i can get it put on looking less awful untill i can afford to get it painted properly. And front lip since i have paint left.
  8. Well, its all legal to drive now got a WOF today. 280kms into the run in, after the above mishap it ran smoothly on Thursday night. Will be great when i can run more than 8psi boost, its really weird driving it like that, take a motorway onramp in 2/3/4 up to 5500, makes all the right noises on full throttle, look down and im still only doing 100kph good way to keep my licence I guess.
  9. marc is coming over to have a look soon. Unplugged afm again, did a quick drive and got to 0.2bar (most I was willing to push it), and ran heaps better.
  10. Replaced AFM. Tried ot take car for a drive, idles erratically at standstill and revs eventually drop down to 200 then nothing. Also no boost at all under throttle, boost gauge reads 0.2 vacuum max. My excitement of getting the car back is starting to fade...
  11. Picked up new AFM and some torx security keys, hopefully put it in tonight and I can try again and doing the new engine run in. Hopefully if something else breaks its in a more convenient location, not in the middle of nowhere...
  12. Started doing the run in on the new engine, AFM dies when im out in the middle of nowhere by Piha. Patience with this car is wearing thin.. Also a gasket somewhere in the exhaust has died so it sounds like a tractor. Or a sik external wastie br0.
  13. Just vht wrinkle paint. Awful stuff to use, and it looks less good up close, but still acceptable. Thankfully the bits i ****ed up were behind it so out of view.
  14. Drove it home with new rebuilt engine, thanks a ton to marc :D :D
  15. where did you get the sticker from? im going to need one for my v6 since ive replaced the factory damaged one with one off an HX D:
  16. Reverse riced it by removing my STI spoiler/sticker and adding Imprezza HX stickers. Seems theres a lot more rear end damage than I originally suspected going by how badly the bootlid fits
  17. oh, well that makes my job of finding a new rear bumper a bit easier then. now to find one in silver...
  18. Ive been trying to find a rear bumper for my v6 and was also told the GF was different to the GC.
  19. Not so much in my own car, besides the drive to Hamilton, but went Karting at full throttle gokarts, managed to get 2nd fastest lap in our group of 12.
  20. Got my fucking ****ing towed from the road outside my house in mt albert due to road works, now i need to find a way to get to symonds street, i dont want to ****ing bus.
  21. nooooo, theres a bunch of gf ones on trademe but no facelift gc ones
  22. are gc wagon/sedan taillights the same? woudl be amazing if this fits my v6 sedan http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/exterior/auction-725292305.htm
  23. New guard purchased then, now just need to find a boot with the big spoiler holes drilled in it and a bumper, in silver..
