  1. Subaru Legacy TS-R 1998 2L, had the dash out and heater core replaced, now the main AC fan makes an extremely loud buzzing/rumbling noise when put on max. It's bolted in as tight as it'll go..... Also, got an air-pocket in the heater core, have tried 3 times to bleed the system but it ain't budging (thermostat 1 month old too so not that). Recommend taking the hoses off and back flushing the core, and re-trying?
  2. That sub box should be great! been meaning to get onto mine for sometime now... Anyway, managed to install the heater core and put the dash all back together (except the courtesy light doesn't come on now when the doors opened grrrr). Not too sure what we did wrong, but if the fan gets put on the maximum setting it vibrates extremely loudly (we tried tightening it and getting it as snug to other things as possible) but I cbf pulling my entire dash, steering column and strut bar out for another month. While at pick-a-part found a mint bumper with fog lights, managed to buy the lot for $28 so starting to sand the bumper and prep it for a paint. My mates mechanic reckoned the fogs are brand new and could easy get $150 for them so pretty stocked. Will put up some pics when I can. Any ideas on the rattling fan box?
  3. Cheers guys. Yea, don't really want to jump into paying for a full custom exhaust, just the tip might get it sounding a bit better. Is there anything/size you'd suggest? Don't know anything about them but always looking/keen to learn. cheers for the input
  4. Thanks for that guys. Not too sure what size I want to go up to. Obviously I don't want something huge as it would look totally out of place. And thanks for reminding me about how power and economy may be affected. I presume there aren't some basic things I could do to start, that won't affect it too much?
  5. Hi Guys. Had the muffler off in the weekend as a mate and I tried to fit an STI to my 98' legacy TS-R (which was just too short). Anywho, my exhaust system is all stock standard, and I couldn't help but fire it up while the muffler was off and man I love the sound! What are the first things you'd look at adding/getting done to get a better (nicer) sound out of the car? I don't want it to be stupidly loud like a boy racer, but something deep and throaty would sound great. Thoughts? P.S that STI exhaust will be up here as soon as I get some pics etc
  6. Well, A friend and I in the weekend removed the entire dash assembly, cross brace and dropped the steering. Removed the Heater core and went to pick-a-part to replace it. Removing the stuff from my car took a solid hour, the one at pick a part probably 30minutes. Have put in the new heater core, and reassembled as it was getting dark and I needed to drive home. Left a few things unplugged so we'll pull it apart this saturday and tidy it all up. Also grabbed a mint bumper and fog lights from an Outback while at pick-a-part, going to respray and put on the Legacy TS-R as I hate my fogs. At least that's the plan
