No one seems to have posted on this thread in a few months but I\'m out of Southland in 4 weeks time heading up north and I know there are some tidy Subies hiding around this area.
Was thinking we should actually get a few cars together for a mini-meet or something similar. Was thinking we could com-endear the Mitre10 or Supercheap Auto car park one evening (especially with daylight saving now). Would anyone be interested in doing something in about 2 weeks time? Maybe around 6-7pm on Saturday the 20th. If we can get half a dozen cars it would be a worthwhile thing and would get the ball rolling atleast for more meets in the future down these ways. If you are keen thrown you name, car and contact details in a reply, the date/time can be changed (hopefully we can get a few from Gore down or something) but really just want to get something happening and get some interest.

Yeah would be a bit late, heading back to Invercargill at around midday. Off to Aussie for 3 months next week to so have to park up my baby for a while

Anyone in this post still keen on a small meet this weekend? Say Sunday maybe?

Pretty sure I saw BINKZ today parked on Jed Street yeah? Jealous man, tidy looking wagon.

Loving it ae. Insane to drive compared to my old TS-R. The only problem I\'m having is finding excuses to drive it.

Excuse my ignorance and please correct me for being wrong (I am dead keen to learn everything I can about these engines) but when the timing belt snaps or something similar like this case, does it not cause the pistons to hit the valves and bend them etc? Thus interference engine?
I also found this, just incase anyone else is interested http://www.scoobyenthusiast.com/subaru-faq/which-subaru-engines-are-interference-what-subaru-engines-are-non-interference
Looks like I was on the right track but not quite right.

From what I have read... 1994-1997 SOHC engines were non-interference, all DOHC and SOHC dated after 1997 are interference. Sounds like there might be bent valves going on in there.

Assuming it can\'t be repaired, check this listing out. Seems to be a tidy engine with relatively good kms on it and the trader is offering free shipping, if I had $800 I\'d be buying it and doing a single turbo conversion on it. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/engines/auction-601780207.htm

Will be in Queenstown for the last weekend of winter fest if people are keen. Want to show off my new E-Tune GT-B.

Just bumping up an old thread. Another Southland based suby fan here. Check out Deep South Cruise Syndicate - worth a look as far kicking off some meets etc. Need to organise a small meet sometime in a local car park or something.

The E-Tune is running just as nicely as it was when I bought it. I only had it for 3 weeks before I went to Aussie for 3 months so I have only been back driving it for about a week now. It lived in Logan\'s garage while I was away and got driven maybe 3 times. The only upgrades I have made so far are STi v7 bucket seats in the front and I installed an AVS 5 star alarm the other day as well. Couldn\'t ask for a better value car. Anything new on the version 8 STi of yours? and would you be keen on this wee meet up?
