Yeah i figured that . I think i might take it somewhere else for a second opinion. All my workmates use this guy and reckon he is a great mechanic though. I should get him to show me the damage before he goes replacing something that aint broke
So my car failed a wof because my steering rack is leaking apparently. It must be a slow leak though because my power steering fluid is still almost full.
Does anyone know what might need to be done and how much it might cost to repair.
The wof guy said he couldnt remember off the top of his head but thought the cost might be a few hundred.
Im going back to him on monday to book it in but dont want to get stung with a huge bill so close to xmas
I think i need to replace my rear shocks in my gf8 wagon but all the replacements on trademe say will fit GC/GF models. Are they all the same because i thought the gf shocks would be a little taller
I will PM the mods tonght when i get home. I dont want to name and shame yet as it might just be lost in transit. It would be nice to get a tracking number though so i can track it myself

Im pretty sure my wrx sits on superlows since i got it and i get heaps of guard rub even after rolling so i want to put it back to factory height. i like the way it looks now but when the kids and mrs are in the car it scrapes heaps lol.
I always thought the gc and gf suspension was just a straight swap. I am thinking of getting these :

Hey guys im thinking about bolting on a v8 bonnet scoop onto my v2 gf8 wagon. There is a guy on trademe that makes fibreglass scoops that bolt straight into the old holes. Just wondering if i should go for the wrx or the sti scoop. Is there much difference in size? And does anyone that has already done this have any pics of their car side on so i can see the size difference?
Im looking at buying a set of second hand struts with blue/green lowering springs on them. My car is already lowered but i think the previous owner may have just cut the springs because the are just black and very old and rusty looking. My question is are all wrx lowering springs the same height because i dont want the car any lower than it already is. My tyres are 215/45 r17 and i dont want to have to roll the guards if i can help it
So im gunna get the car up on the hoist pretty soon so the garage can see if it is the bearing. If it is what kinda price range do you guys think would sound right. i got quoted between $250 and 400 over the phone today
