  1. I haggled and managed to get them for about $200. I've used them maybe 6 or 7 times and they seem well made and durable. I figured I'd rather spend a bit more and avoid damaging my car than cheap out and buy some that don't clear my guards or struts properly, and potentially damaging brake lines if they come loose because of it.
  2. I use SCC Super Z6 on my bh5 http://www.peerlesschain.com/brands/traction/traction-product-choices/super-z6-tire-chains/. They don't need much clearance and are the easiest chains I've ever put on (I could do about a minute each wheel). Traction is as good as any regular tyre chain I've used. Just checked and they make them in your size. Also I haven't noticed any damage to the wheels from using them. If I remember correctly only plastic and rubber parts make contact with the wheel itself.
  3. No this is another model that was not sold new in NZ. A few autos have made it into the country, but I'm yet to find a manual version outside of the states.
  4. You can get 2.5 outback standard with manual but they are too gutless for my liking. The 2.5XT is a 2.5L single turbo with approximately 250hp from factory and was produced from 2005 to 2008. I have also considered converting a 3.0 outback to manual but it wouldn't come cheap so I thought I'd look into the XT as an option.
  5. I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this model, sometimes referred to as Outback 2.5XT. Specifically, I want to know if the 5 speed manual Outback XT was ever produced in RHD. I'm considering trying to find one to import but have only been able to find autos in RHD.
  6. All sorted. Replaced the injector and it's once again a dream to drive. Faulty injector was still pulsing as if it was functioning fine so I'm buggered if I know what's gone wrong with it. Thanks for the help guys.
  7. I now have a code. P0270 - Cylinder 4 injector circuit low. Hopefully its just a blocked injector and not an electrical issue. Has anyone had any experience with this code before?
  8. So I had a look this morning. I have both the black and green plugs and an OBD port. Does anyone know if this would be an OBD1 or OBD2 port? I connected the black plugs and the check engine light did 16 slow flashes followed by 8 quick flashes. As far as I can tell this doesn't correspond with any error codes that I can find on any list. I have checked the code multiple times to make sure I am counting it correctly. Time to hook it up to a diagnostics scanner perhaps.
  9. Thanks Marky I'll try that this weekend. My first though was the air flow meter as well. Didn't realise it was that simple to check for the code so I guess I'll see what it throws my way. Cheers
  10. Hi guys, today my 2003 bh5 gtb developed a problem. When I started it to head home today I noticed that it was idling very rough. It remained very rough and shakey until about 2500rpm where it smoothed out a wee bit but was down on power. Shortly after I set off the check engine light came on. It would turn off occasionally but would come back on not long after. It appeared to stay off steadily at 80-100km/h and was consistently on at idle and low revs. It smelled quite hot when I got home which it never has before even after long drives. I could not spot any leaks and all gauges read as normal. I had driven it around half and hour prior with no issues. Any help is much appreciated. Cheers, Mark
