  4. Either ford rs cosworth or rs200, very rare and epic cars!
  5. easy enough task to swap the sti non dccd centre diff with dccd one of same era? Cheers
  6. You dont need "big black" mates to get it back. nah just a big black gun ftw
  7. im heading up from taumarunui early as saturday morning, will be going to the drags from hamilton in convoy with my brother in his v5 ra so any other people welcome to join, we having a bit of a detour drive round some twisty roads on the way also.
  8. was that when you just unplumbed the vac lines to the standard actuator? i put a 35mm tial on my type r with 7psi spring and ran a gfb boost tap, never spiked over 17psi, had same boost tap on my starlet and never spiked (maybe 0.3psi if that). found easiest and cheapest way to put on an ewg was to by legacy 250t headers and weld a flange by the up pipe as they are mild steel. worked well for me
  9. oh fark sorry didnt really proof read it properly : its out of my v6 sti ra, has 149000kms and has had new cambelt and clutch at 100kms. could maybe come with a link g4 plug in for a good price. has a very good service history and runs like a dream
  10. hey all thinking of going down the v8-v9 engine path or maybe forged so wondering if anyone would be interested in my engine and possibly gearbox. comes with vf22, dumpipe, i/c, all the loom..basically everything in the engine bay related to the engine. just wondering on what sort of money people would be willing to pay, can drive the car with engine in it before purchasing. cheers
  11. cheers for th reply man, yeah will have a good look over the receipts and ask a questions. looks all good but dunnno whats been done behind that block.
  12. ahh that looks fricken mean, going to be a very tidy engine bay man
  13. hey all, have a mate really keen to buy this wrx but is a little bit hesitant as its a 2.2l and unsure how its gained the extra 200cc. Does anyone know this car and or whats been done to it? any help appreciated. cheers http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=437508044
  14. awesome as mate taht sounds great as, contacted dave at dtech today and he said cost about 600-1000 to get it tuned and roundabout 220wkw. might wait and get injectors decapped first then tune
  15. first hand experience is the key once i get tune done i can post info and dyno sheets for further reference
  16. i have a brandnew (practically) v8 spec c top mount that i may fit in process of decapping. the advice and opinions are very aprreciated
  17. ahh mint man, good to have someone with same car and very same mods. make a big difference over standard ecu? ill only be using it on the street, and slowly keep modding it over couple years
  18. cheers mate will give him a call and find out more details
  19. awesome advice, will talk to the tuners and weigh up my options. as if i sell the link then ill get ecutek tune instead, g4 prob be better in the hands of someone thats wanting to run big turbos and lots of power.
  20. im in taumarunui in the central north island, so can go to really anywhere. So in your opinion itd be a noticeable and worth the money to have a tune?
  21. the links got a tune for an ej25 with gt40 turbo so wont run very well on my car haha, currently running the factory item. i was hoping for that sort of power, i dont really intend on doing a hell of alot of future power mods. ive been told by wrc developments that can reflash v5/6 ecus for about 1000$, be nice to have the link do all the controlling of the boost though. any recommended tuners? have found via searching that gary capper and dtech seem to be among the top options. not sure on their pricing at this stage
  22. hey, have a got a couple options that i need some opinions on. currently have a v6 sti ra with vf22, walbro pump, k&n intake, full turbo back exhaust, and semi tuned length headers. have couple options: A: get a tune with my plug in link g4 as its is (say $800) B: sell link and get an ecu reflash and tune ($1000) both options im not too sure what sort of power gains im looking at, running around 15psi at the mo through gizzmo ebc. just want to know if its worth spending the money or maybe the power gains wont be enough to equal the amount spent. thoughts? comments? cheers
  23. my tommi was in tip top condition, immaculate. drove from welly back to taumarunui (400kms) in the ra and loved it, had a type r few years back and drove 130kms a day in it. luckily only live 3kms from work so can shed soem xmas fat and leave wrx in the shed haha
  24. haha damn it, nah im happy and had it in trademe for a few months. had heaps of unreasonable swaps.
