after a version 7 sti engine ? got one still in the car, and done only run in of 1000k's from rebuilt(got receipts). taking it out to build a forged engine.

i have a subaru forester SF5 1997, ej20 s/tb manual. so it has started surging recently, i dont wana spend money by taking it to mechanics. the symptom is it surges on load just above 2800 rpm at any vehicle speed, what could be reasons? i am guessing its turbo, can hear some rattling noise coming from that area but not sure, also the idle stays below 500 or sometimes stay above 1500 wont come down on a seperate note the abs light is on aswel, i changed the brake light bulb (since it was blown) and the light is still present, could be sensors ? i resetted the ecu
