any idea how much would a starter or alternator cost? it makes a "click" noise when it does it. happend again this morning, tried knocking the starter motor but nothing happend. stil wouldnt start. left it for about 10 mins then tried again then there she goes. i dont really know whats wrong with it.

hi i have a gc8 and it has trouble starting. when i turn ignition on, the dash light up but when i try starting it, nothing happens. the engine wont even turn over. the 1st and 2nd time it happend, i left the car for approx 15mins before trying again and it started, ran perfectly. however lately its worse. it ownt start again. left it for 15mins, nothing. couple of hours, nothing. left it for the whole day, still nothing. tried jumpstarting it then it goes. i thought it was the battery so i had it checked and charged and it was good for a couple tries but come the next day, its doing it again, it wont start. tried knocking the starter motor twice and the it started. i dont know if its just a coincidence. what can be the problem?? please help me.
