Hi all, my first post on here. As my Forester 2002 XT runs really bad on anything less than 98, I\'m certainly looking out for all the 98 RON outlets. Edgware - Sherborne St - is one I\'ve used a few times. Mostly go to Redcliffs as we live in Mt Pleasant. I took my wagon to Stubaru a while back to find out why it didn\'t run well all the time. Stu put a hand-held diagnostics computer on it and went for a blat. Under full throttle, the knock sensor activated and timing was retarded by up to 19 deg, with injectors at 70 duty. No wonder it ran like crap! The concerning thing is, NZ fuels use Toluene to boost the octane, which evaporates very quickly. So depending how long the gas sits in the tanks at the station, it may not even be 98 at all!
My project for next year is to set up a water injection system to compensate for our bad fuel...some of the worst in the world I\'ve heard.
