  1. I\'ve seen the MRT one on youtube, I was after something like that but considering I\'m not looking at doing extensive work on my car maybe a bell mouth will be okay. Looking at putting in a boost controller after the down pipe and then getting a tune. Just have a cat-back exhaust at the moment.
  2. That\'s a good point. I\'m not really looking at doing extensive mods, just a few done well. For a road car/daily would a bell mouth do?
  3. Hey guys I\'ve been trying to source a split/divorced type downpipe for my V7 STI for a while now, been a mission to find one. I\'m thinking I might just buy a bell mouth type pipe and get a splitter welded on. Has anyone had this done before? If so, would be great if I could get some recommendations on some exhaust fabricators in Auckland and a rough estimate as to how much it would cost. Cheers
  4. Blur.. Downpipe did in fact only have one sensor towards the bottom which is the O2 sensor, was looking at something else at the top lol. Yup thats true a cat-less downpipe wouldn\'t need the sensor but no harm of leaving it in if theres a hole for it. I\'m thinking replacing the factory air box filter with a high flow filter would be the best option in terms of the intake, thoughts? Will get a tune done after this and possibly a boost controller.
  5. Had a look through a few older posts and yeah most people were saying you only need an O2 sensor when you switch to a an aftermarket down pipe. What would you you do with the other sensor though? Yup I didn\'t mention I was planning on retuning after I got the down pipe in cause it\'ll definitely run richer. Was also thinking of installing a cold air intake as well before I re tune but there\'s a lot of mixed opinions on sticking with the factory air box or going after market. Only looked at doing a few basic mods, but I wanna do them well and get the most out of them. I\'m in Auckland, out east in Botany
  6. Currently have a catback exhaust on my V7 STI and I\'m looking at replacing the factory down pipe. I\'m boosting 17 PSI at the moment and was wondering if it might be a good idea to buy a EBC at the same time?? Has anyone gone from a catback to full 3" setup? What were the increases in boost? Just after some general comments and thoughts. I also know the factory down pipe has a second sensor, in additional to the O2 sensor on top. From what I\'ve read it measures the exhaust temperature I think? The aftermarket down pipes I\'ve been looking at don\'t have a hole for this sensor, do I need a pipe with a hole for it? Cheers
  7. Cheers for the responses guys.. Also would anyone be aware of the power, torque and weight of the orginal MY05 sti? Im assuming power would be 206 kw/280 ps. Figures for the spec c are... Power: 206 kw Torque: 422 nm at 4400 rpm Weight: 1390 kg's
  8. Hey guys Was reading up about the v10 sti spec c and just a few little questions... In a article I read it says the spec c's don't have a boot release mechanism, so you can only open the boot with the key. Anyone who has this model or previous spec c models able to confirm this? Also spec c's don't come with speakers in the rear doors right? Here's a bit of info I found which mite be worth a read if your interested in this model... http://blog.gtroc.com/dino/2005/09/subaru_impreza_wrx_sti_specc.php http://translate.google.co.nz/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.sti.jp/GRN/bulletins/050818.html&ei=uMouTYbIIoK2vQOZ_sT9CA&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=5&ved=0CDkQ7gEwBDgK&prev=/search%3Fq%3DGDBF4FH%26start%3D10%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3Dvwz%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-GB:official%26prmd%3Divnsfd Cheers
