b]something that caught me out the other day, the dust plate under the flywheel became jammed between the engine and gearbox...[/b]

This sucks s***. One of the times I put engine I did this and ended up getting the 2 bolts undone and pulling it out the bottom in place. Massive mission.

Just remember the clutch fork pin it seems to catch out a lot of people.

dont have to worry about it when its goin in is when your splitting them the pin needs out because the clutch has a 1 way spring clip once its engaged its a c*#t to get out again in place,

mate engine to box first then slide the mounts down and in fairly simple just teadius work dont expect it to take 20 min haha

  5. hey guys who has had good\bad assembly jobs in chch was thinking either car aid or mace ive got 90% of the parts myself just want someone else (with a warranty) to do the torqueing so to speak, dont want a brofessional on it

keep in mind hes probably got a better 98 octane than ours in nz we have s*** fuel to the point some of our road transport trucks and digger even have to have a extra filter set up to maintain the euro emission standards and not bugger the engines because there tuned on euro fuels (scania-hitachi komatsu-hyundai-mercedes and freightliner all do ,or there fuel filters are nz spec higher filtration level

Not so sure youre on the money with the extra fuel filtration thing dude. Thats a dirty fuel thing but not an emissions thing thats more CJ-4 spec oil and ad blue stuff youre getting into for low SAPS EGR/DPF systems.

Btw we sell 2mic racor units to local Toyota lads to retrofit on CRDI hilux/landcruiser.

it makes the differnce in the egr twin cooling trucks because the injectors are very tempermental about what goes through them, for instance a we have to make some trucks relearn there fuel maps to adjust the adblu content in the exhaust du to adblu beingdependant on current exhaustflow ambiant temp pressure etc but either way im still picking its electrical issues hes got

  8. i if its bacfiring then theres fuel and air id say noones looked at the sparkplugs or coils in as they will break down at temperatures ,my bc5 coils worked fine but i pulled them out and i was amazed at the cracks in them it was impressive replaced them though br worth doing a decent service that way you have a base to compare anything on if the oil in the box for instance is glitery then well thats pretty self explanitory same for the rear diff

  9. theres a flexi in the up pipe already i just had the turbo oil feed pipe bend on me and spray nice gold oil over everything i recomend wrappin the up pipe twice for good measure ive had mine for 3 years now ,wrap the othe pipes to just keep in mint that road debris will slowly take it off i made a small sheild on the bc5 for it though , theres no problem with them ive had other than my filter issue

i run stainless headers and there a faint hint of rumble at idle but if you wernt looking you wouldnt pick an ej sound like a silvia more though ,anyway mine are from the mcphail group kain was his name only problem i had was oil filter clearance have to use a lf3079 or 3034 cant remember and use real mls gaskets i blew 3 sets of composite ones before i changed them i think it was just the expantion between the alloy and stainless, also beware they can hang low my car isnt very low but the manifold is ,luckily its inbetween the wheel area to dont have to worry much, and brace the up pipe on the factory mounts because of the steel oil feed line doesnt like to flex much i cant find a pic of my ones havent seen another set like them anyway what ones were you looking at?

Thats redlines mothership so yep theyre redline and there is semi and tuned which explains the slight rumble. Filter in normal terms would be a Z436.

yeah the fleetgaurd opne is the onlyone that is short enough

Wof - need new front rotors soon...3rd warrant with the comment so better get some. Opinions on stock or aftermarket? Armstrong have great price for factory (non-slotted) so leaning in that direction...

i run standard trw rotors and havent had a problem took it to the track and dint feel i needed more brakes just keep in mind your oem ones lasted a fuck of alot longer than any after market ones with aftermarket pads COEFFICINCYS and the such
