  1. No worrys mate, as far as the block goes there is not much difference between a std block and a STI "tuned" short block,

if memory serves only real differences are; head gaskets, pistons, wrist pins and some later models have a billet crank vs the forged equiv. both however have a more refined balancing than stock.

Most of the STI goodies are bolt on ancillaries, I mean in terms of comparison there is only 1 difference between the man. gearbox and short block of my non-STI GTBL and that beast..... the wrist pins.

Hope I helped a little tis a nice car and a fair price too...

  2. For loner and Roo yes its a copy.... sue me.... and for johnnynz I posted because of the "rebuilt with foz suspension" and "its too high" comments, people have forgotten what a stock car looks like.

I drive a GTBL with the stock blisteins and my ride hight is 160mm ground clearance and 335mm from hub center to guard (vert) and to me this feels too low.... anyhoo im not trying to start anything just saying remember the heritage of the cars you drive....

Then put back together with forester suspension?

Duno about the crash angle but surely looks higher than stock to me. Suspiciously like my mates rally/gravelx car running Forrester suspension so it sits nice and high.

I reckon your onto something there.

Although the car is fundamentally the same as that used on gravel and snow, there are plenty of subtle differences to adapt it to asphalt\'s unique challenge. One of the most noticeable is the ride height of the car. Whereas a gravel-spec WRC car will be raised well off the road to ensure ground clearance over rough terrain, an asphalt-spec WRC car is kept as close to the ground as possible to ensure a low centre of gravity to improve handling and response. Suspension set-up - focusing on the dampers and anti-roll bars - is an area of much debate. Ideally, they should be reasonably \'soft\' to maximise grip and reaction to changes in the road surface, but if you go too soft the car\'s handling becomes \'floppy\' as the car pitches and rolls.

In short guys we all drive RALLY cars so maybe a "standard" ride height isnt so worrysome.....
