  1. OBD2 scanner came in the mail today, so just finished checking out the codes. Said there was 4 old ones and one new one, "p0500, p1518, p1590, p0136 and finally p0350." Assuming p0350 is the newest one, this makes a lot of sense. P0350 - Ignition Coil Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction. What should I be checking to remedy this CEL, perhaps one or more were duds? they came off a 2001 V7 with 115ks on the clock. I may not be the greatest DIYer but they all felt in place correctly etc.

Ok, so either way I see I\'ll need an obd-ii scanner, any reccomendations for these? Just the cheapest rubbish will work near the same as an expensive one?

These ones seem the cheapest on Trademe, otherwise I guess I could try ripco or sca.

    2000 V7 STI would be OBD I wouldn\'t it?

I just finished some googling and found this:

Does ej207 swap w/ version 7 sti ecu = no more obdii? what can I do about emissions? what about datalogging w/ ecuexplorer? what about ecuflash?

you will not pass OBDII emissions testing BUT OBDII is operational. It just does not include all the USDM stuff for emissions testing.

ECUFlash, Enginuity, etc ALL work on the JDM/EDM ecus as well as the USDM.

But chances are you are correct, either way I need a code reader :(

Not a great sign but necessarily a terminal sign, see plenty of turbo cars with oil in the intercooler/piping. This is not your problem.

I would be checking coils and plugs for a start then moving on to afm

Ah yes, should\'ve also mentioned this, replaced afm about 200km ago and coils maybe 100km ago, spark plugs were done maybe 5k ago. It was running absolutely mint after changing out the coils (no more misfiring)

  5. So I was driving home yesterday and randomly my car started kinda hesitating over about 3k rpm, like I\'m getting either very low or no boost (no boost gauge) and fuelling was staying the same perhaps? Anyway I checked the oil, it was near full about 200km ago, now it\'s below the low mark cold. I took the intercooler off and I see there is oil in there and right before the throttle body. CEL does not come on, body/turbo/gearbox have 200,700km on them, about 31k on rebuilt engine. Standard vf30 on standard boost. 2000 V7 STi. Is there anything else it could be?
