  1. do you have to cut bump stops when installing Tein springs in a v7? if so how much in the front & rear... hearing mixxed opinions
  2. Ok so ill scrap the idea of a front one haha allgood saves me money. Is it dodgey buying second hand springs? Theres a set of Teins off a version 7/8 on trade me for 300....
  3. So 22mm adjustable in the front an rear will be sufficient? Im not rushing into anything yet as i dont wanna make it worse
  4. Cheers guys! think i have a game plan now. time to start hording parts
  5. Hi everyone... another noob thread for ya.... lol Im wanting to get my V7 wrx sti to handle a little more aggressive and get ride of that bloody body roll, feels like a whale. At the moment the car is on stock struts, springs and mags. the reason iv started this thread is i want to see what others recommend i do from personal experience... i want to avoid making it handle worse just for looks so any help is appreciated. At the moment im thinking of putting some good quality sport springs into my standard struts (cant be #^&^# with adjusties) - possibly Tein, or if i can afford it Racecomp engineering springs, once thats done white line sway bars and bushes front and rear. <<<< has anyone done something similar and can lend some advice. Cheers
  6. iv been told that you can lose HP if you dont plumb the dump pipe back in?
  7. Iv allready got these headers sitting in my garage and I will have it flanged to run internal. And I won't equal length headers.... and I can't afford a t.s setup
  8. at the end of the day its each to their own, i know the legalities and rules,i just wanted some advice on is it possible with these exact headers,
  9. because i would need a twin scroll sump etc, and turbo which i just cant be bothered with at the moment, im only a student.... Just making do with the best i can afford.
  10. Ok sweet, yea some photos would be great. Let me know how you get on with doing it to your set.
  11. ill have it setup interal with a flange where its easy to get to and when i get sick of it, it'll be a piece of piss to change. AND seeing as i have these headers sitting in my garage i can get things organised. just didnt know if it would fit or work.. cheers
  12. i cant seem to upload a photo of the headers so heres a link.... [tip : the IMG code is the one you wnt to pste from p-bucket - joker]
  13. Does anyone know if a EWG can be made to fit these? Most likely on a V7 STI. Cheers
  14. The one I swapped out (brandnew dw one) seemed sloppy around the conection to pump.... the oem felt like it fitted alot better.
  15. I'm looking at putting new headers on too... did the xforce ones give good gains?
  16. Yea that does make alot of sense. What about the sensitivity adjustment and closed loop stratigy? that help keep a consistent psi as is designed to eliminate fluctions in different gears...high rpm... and atmospherics?
  17. iyd get it tuned for my top psi... 20...21 by gotasuby, but surely theres no harm in lowering the boost... to 16 if you are planning a long road trip for instance? ( sorry if thats a dumb thing to say.... im no mechanic)
  18. reason im after a gfb over just a 3-port is they are more adjustable and have a few features that l like.... the closed loop strategy sounds like a good thing too. i have definitely considered a 3-port but a feel a gfb offers a more user friendly setup that doesn't require me getting gotasuby to readjust it everytime....? Im guessing the factory ecu with 3-port has limited function and tunablilty compared to a gfb?
  19. will tackle that one once iv got my EBC installed along with intake hose, but yea i have thought about that. Any suggestion on where and what to upgrade the factory actuator on a vf30 to? kinugawa?
  20. ah yea see im getting 20 psi mid range and 16 up top... im after a more stable boost curve.... holding 21psi to redline would be nice and that what a aftermarket intake hose and ebc will help with
  21. just did the swap.... the dw200 sock and factory sock are the exact same size.... BUT i noticed the dw200 sock was a really sloppy fit compared the the OEM one,im guessing this may have be creating the issue. So iv put my factory one back on and hopefully its allgood. just for interest i was just under 1/2 tank, and i mean i little bit... and around a mellow right hander 2nd gear hard up it and it surge going into 3rd.... and i thought i would have been allg...
