Can you hear it change over - like the sound change from dubdubdub to waaaaaaa (ok it's hard to spell sounds in text form)
Mild long shot, have you tried freeboosting it
Does the BOV close solid (it could explain the issue)
Where and how do you have the boost controller plumbed in?
Douh, missed this post!
Yes the sound changes, and the secondary is definitely working, as it will hold 0.6-7 all the way up thurr.
No idea, I'll check that right now!
Boost controller has a 'T' in the wastegate line to the bottom port on the controller, as per the in-durrwebs instructions below.
Worked before, so it should work now, I have tried winding it in, will make the boost less if its completely closed, just wont go over 0.7 even wound out past the clicker detent ball.

Swore at it.

Right, in test mode the secondary exhaust control valve thingy wasn't moving, so I free'd it by yanking back and forward on the actuator rod, worked mint last night, back to no boost this morning, gaaah!
So I guess I have to pull that thing off and see whats making it sticky, I think its sticking slightly open, which is probably causing the issues.
Wasn't that, dagnabbit.

Looks nice!
And way cheaper than actually black-chrome wheels!

Bought some Znoelli brake pads, hopefully I wont kill them at the next track day.

Where is this solenoid?
I have not heard of it either.

If one's GTB is doing pretty much the same thing as the OP's car, but it has a manual boost controller on it, what could be causing it?
As hose 23 is now blocked off it cant be doing anything wonky.
It was making 1.2 bar before I changed teh spark plugs, now it wont get above .6ish, it does run a lot smoother though.
Oh, the only other thing I changed was put a 0.8 pill in hose one instead of the ghetto plastic irrigation tap, but that shouldn't have changed anything?

New ball joints, steering rack bushes, and spark plugs.
Glad the plugs don't need changing as often as the old Valiant ones did, cos its a major pain in the knuckles.

The blue kit linked above is for a version 7. So as above the top radiator hose will be slightly kinked on a rev A/B/C. Also the turbo coolant hoses between the turbo's and header tank wont be right, the TT has a T piece in the secondary hose that feeds off to the primary turbo (10mm and 12mm). Also one of the firewall heater hoses will be wrong WRX-TT, because both TT heater hoses are together under the TMIC.
Roger!
I knew about the turbo hoses being wrong, so they will have to be hacked a bit.
Might get one of the cheap ones and report what fits and what doesn't.
Also now there is both a Rev C GTB(mine) and a Rev D RSK (Kims) in teh family, can report on the differences between fitting the kit to both!
Dammit, that's a lot of faffing with hoses, and a lot of coolant...
And probably some bleeding, there's always bleeding.

Interesting, very interesting!
So most of a WRX kit will fit, providing the main hoses are of the correct shape yah?
-
So, I've been looking for some silicone ancillary hose kits for my Rev C GTB of Deth, and the options are either very expensive or non-existent.
However there are kits available for every model WRX under the sun sea or moon.
Do any of youse guru's know if all or most of the hoses from a particular model WRX kit would fit?

Does anyone know how to identify which spring one has, ie between sedan and wagon springs, I'm guessing the wagon springs will have a bigger wire diameter, but what they actually are I have no idea!

I say Mr Hose10 Mod guru's, on a revd with an aftermarket BOV (I think its an old model GFB), the BOV hose has some sort of factory looking joiner/ restrictor pill in it.
Did they have something in that hose from factory, or is it something the BOV installer did?

Does anyone know if its possible to turn off the door locking on start thing that Gen III's have?
-
Yep, you sure can, its as free as a free thing!
I'll be there with the GTB of Deth.

Funny crackling through stereo on full throttle.

So apparently the crackling issue is gone with new sparky plugs, and now clean coils, the passengers side coils were both soaked in oil.
Hopefully that helps someone later if they're having the same issue.
Still can't find the dodgy wiring causing the stereo to drop the rh front channel though, might be the head unit, joy.
