The unit you've linked appears to have a 4 Core 1.5Ghz processor while the iDoing ones are 8-Core 1.8Ghz.

I have an iDoing unit in my Impreza. I also have a 4-core Kunfine unit and have used a different model Android unit in other car. They just aren't as responsive as the higher spec iDoing models.

    I wouldn't buy a 4-core unit again.

Audio quality on all these android units is "OK". If high fidelity is very important to you, I would suggest to look at a name brand headunit.

Awesome thanks @MattyMo just the feedback I was after

@MattyMo has the same style thing. Think it was the idoing version but I'm not super clued up on them other than that there are a couple of hardware variations out there with some being ok and others being rubbish.

You're on FB aye? Join the hatch messenger group as there will be a bunch of guys there that have tried them. I prefer the tried and true solutions from mainstream brands for audio quality and response but they do have their benefits with running on the android platform

Awesome cheers Andy will have a look on FB

There will be catted and uncatted variants depending on the destination market. If you're uncatted it will probably have a 2-letter prefix on the model code, probably TA- (and nowadays would be unable to import the car due to emissions laws), catted probably 3-letter prefix.

Got ya, according to carjam mine is TA-SG5

Yeah nah there's heaps with catted uppipes around. Loads of GDA/GGA WRXs had them AFAIK.

Part number is 44104FE010 and Forry XT of that era is listed as having one too.

Best bet is to find a stock STI uppipe of the same era, or I guess an older one would work fine too?

Interesting, when you put that part into Partsouq the price is $2132 so for that price it would have a cat in it, however when I put in the chassis number of my forester in and find the up pipe relating to it, its only $276 so that indicates to me that mine doesn't have a cat in the up pipe

dunno about anything on this side of the world but the US had a heap with uppipe cats. Only ever a single scroll thing but a major headache for them as they had a tendency to break down and kill turbos.

That makes sense with all the research I found saying there was one in the up pipe were American forums

Is it inside or outside the noise is from?

    If it’s inside then

I had a similar thing in another car and it was the rod to the master cylinder. the rod is rounded and sits in a concave bit and it ran out of grease.

The other thing that makes sound is the return spring on the top or the mounting bolts coming loose.

also split firewalls where the welds around the booster mount start to go.

Nah it's definitely outside can barely hear it with windows up

  7. Hey there team

My sti has developed a bit of a creaking noise in the front brakes whic is mainly noticeable at low speeds or when pumping the pedal when stationary

On the road the brakes work fine, pads are relatively new (Dixcel) had them on a year now

I pulled the front wheels off and removed pads etc but couldn't see anything off or anything cleaned them up a bit but made no difference, fluid is all at the right level as well

Link to video below so you can hear the noise this is pumping the pedal slowly

  8. Hi Team

Looking to get an XForce catback exhaust for the STI  - this one here https://www.nzperformance.co.nz/categories/exhaust-system/x-force-exhaust-systems/subaru/xforce-impreza-sti-2007-on-hatch-cat-back-exhaus-2?gn=Subaru&gp=3

However being in Nelson the freight is like $150 to get it from AKL

If I can save a bit and get one from the south island would be great but cant see anyone in the south that stocks them - anyone know of someone?

  9. Hey team

Looking at replacing the PCV Valve on my 02 SG Forester but just not sure if the part I've found on Partsouq is the correct one

From what I can see it is part number 11815AB450

But is this the complete PCV Valve? pic below
