  1. Lol, I thought it was March and was coming to say sorry can't make it, but May is a whole nother story
  2. Well Ford is American, and yeah they never got the ST, which heavily impacts the aftermarket parts scene sadly, but least UK went hard with them. With regards to Weight and all that, I'm honestly not worried about it, Think of it this way, Imagine only 10 STi's ever came to NZ and were super super limited the rest of the world (SA only got 55) and you just got a chance to get original Rims off a STi for your WRX. you would go for it as well. As I said maybe, later on, I'll upgrade to some serious rims but because my PCD is so weird I can't exactly browse trademe for some OZ or anything.
  3. hahaha Actually lets be honest It prob is one of the most confused cars, Its an American Car... Designed in the UK, Built in Germany, Powered my Swedish engine, Sold in Japan and Owned by a South African Living in New Zeland.
  4. @Joker Sooo you're saying I basically have a Ferrari then Thanks guys, Yeah Maybe I should just make a new topic
  5. Only reason for the Change is I was able to get original Focus RS Rims, They lighter and stronger then the stock 18's I got on now, and got them way cheaper then some lightweight Oz or Enkei rims. Main reason Why I haven't is my PCD is 108x5 so the really Nothing in NZ for me will have to order from the factory direct.
  6. Well thats the thing, the top brands are all like $300-$500 per tire, the NT5000 are $160-180 and yeah its mainly for Track use. its also just the first set, just not in a position right now to do $1000 on tires, still getting all the other things ready for racing. factory size for these rims is 235/35/19 but I'm good up to 265/35/19. you know a guy?
  7. Oh man those things are god aweful, My first drive in a 86 thought something was very wrong like it was running cold slicks or something. Guess its a nice way to make the car feel epic. So what you guys rate of the Neuton NT5000? I've read oversea's reviews saying they pretty good not epic, but for the money, they stand out as performance tires. The old owner of the ST fitted HiFly (????) tires and at powercruise they were not bad, but need new tires as got RS rims on the way and they are 19"
  8. In all honestly from my experience taking guys around the track when I worked for Audi unless you got F1 drivers blood in you and your car isn't tuned to the rafters you shouldn't have to worry. Since its your first time on the track what will feel fast to you a experience racer will knock 5 seconds off it easy, and thats fine, but you won't be near the limits of your car. But I'll see you there man, Come say hello to the Focus with the stripes
  9. Was worried about my car there, but chatted to a mate, this is more a boxer engine issue right? and why? thin sumps cause the engine sits low ?
  10. That last bit makes sense about an injector limiting,. but that's to me, I'm the ford guy here just bringing Diversity to the forum, wouldn't know enough on modded Subaru engines.
  11. Yeah man, fully get where you're coming from, I can't have my cake and eat it too kind of thing. Funny enough was chatting to one of my endurance racing teammates back home and he's got a Audi A4 Avant with the 2.0TDI engine and Quattro Says it's been towing his car like a dream and around town, he's been getting really good fuel economy. Checked on trade me and the 2009 and up models do seem within Price range. the other side is the Outback 3.0 would be way cheaper and free up money for the race car. But at least now I have solid options
  12. Yeah Even as this forums Euro hot hatch guy I'm not the biggest fan of the new RS, don't like the noise especially compared to the 5 cylinder noise of the old ST225/RS mk2 also I agree with some of the guys, it looks a bit bland. But don't be so quick to write it off having been in one I'll take its interior and comfort over the new STi anyday
  13. Saw this posted up on another forum and found it really interesting. it's like an Inverted Boxer motor Fords new 2.7L Three cylinder six piston two stroke yet? 270HP 480ft-lbs, 37mpg in an F150, 18.5:1 compression, a supercharger and a turbo
  14. of course you post this right after I spend all my money on Airplane tickets... but yeah that would be ideal. guess later this year I'll post a wanted add.
  15. ok so little update on this, Turns out I can't read, and car only weighs 1300Kg wich completely changes everything as now I'm not looking at luggin 2Tons across the country. How do the Subaru outback H6's do in city driving, See a few of the 3.0R's and the Lancaster models going for super cheap, and it should tow 1.5T pretty easy.
  16. hahaha That's going to be interesting, Be keen to see for me as well as march race I'm coming with 220bhp and last race tune will be done so 340bhp Then we race
  17. Are Ford ST's Allowed for what its worth at least it's not a Land Yacht Falcon? Would be keen as to join, but yeah Week after the super lap final, might be a bit tight.
  18. Remember looking at doing that on my ST, and the stupid thing is even with the buttons and it turned on in the ECU it lights up on the dash BUT nothing happens, turns out Ford ONLY on the ST didn't program anything behind the cruise control, so the ECU has no idea. Bit annoying but guess its not what the car was built for.
  19. Will be financing it,, was happy to go for something 10K, but prob going to have to go over that. will pay it off over a year so a couple K does make a difference. I really am starting to lean closer and closer to the 3.0R, I was keen for a Audi A4 Wagon with the Desiel 2.0T but its max towing is 1800kg, and the car already weighs 1600, and double I can get a 200kg Braked trailer. haha Everyone in SA said the same thing and laughed at it for bringing a 2.0L to a V6 fight until the reviews and head to heads started coming out, and it not only kept'd up with them but flattened them in many ways. Don't knock a VW/Audi Desiel, That's their gift. and yeah back home you see many hitting 400K km. Styling might not be for everyone but trust me its one hell of a ute. I've been told avoid the older Colorados as parts are becoming a mission, we taking the car down to Fielding in March with a 2006 Ford Ranger so we'll see how the older ones go, he tows he Falcon speedway car around with it no problems. Guess the biggest thing I'm keen on at the moment is getting a Deisel for the long distance economy and it gets really good fuel in town. funny enough some volvo XC90's in the price in good condition, its a bit Rich soccer mommy for me but they would make an amazing tow car
  20. I actually was thinking about them, a friend in SA just got one, he loves it. got the Discovery. Looks like the Territory is out, two mates who work at ford both said to avoid them in the first gen, they constantly need the bushings and subframe work done.. At this rate might just say F*** it and 15K look at a slight older Ranger or really just throw my hands up and for 25K just buy an Amarok Really isn't many options in the SUV range besides a Volvo XC90 which I actually wouldn't mind.
  21. I do love me a Range Rover sport
  22. I know right?! I love the patrol, would good for the 04 shape. If the Outlander is able to do it it makes me wonder about the Ford Kuga or even some of the Diesel Volvo's but they all above 10K.so might just break the budget when it comes time. I've only ever towed 21ft boats and my old 2004 Outback was easily able to do that, but this seems to be a bit more weight and its not the flat roads of south Africa. So any other suggestions, Considering everything, just don't wanna blow something going up a big hill. so far the territory still leading, Really don't like Falcons/Commy's just find them such Land Yachts for a 4 door.
  23. @Joker thanks man, some good points, I dunno how I feel about that ute falcon, not solf on the looks The Outback 3.0R was def in my mind as a good pick, @boon Most of the people are using Rangers, which for me I don't feel like paying the UTE tax (The are crazy expensive here) I just really Don't need the UTE part, can fit everything I would need for a track day inside an SUV/Wagon. Also, the ST stock is 1600kg will be stripping it out should be able to lose 100kg hopefully :P but yeah should look at 2T as the towing capacity. Maybe the territory at its price even with the bad fuel is a good option, least know with a 4L straight 6 and 6speed gearbox it should handle nicely
  24. Hey guys, So thought I would ask this from people who Know NZ a lot better then I do, Later this year the ST will prob go full track car and I'll need something to tow it up and down the country, as well as something good I can use for a daily. Originally I was thinking a Ford Territory as they as cheap, will easily do up to 300k+ km with little issues and thought It ticked all the boxes, but only place that it sucks is it gets god-awful fuel economy even when not towing, So open to suggestions, only have 3 things I'm looking for Crusie Control Decent Fuel when not Towing able to tow 1.5T without straining or holding up everyone's day. So not looking to buy, but what would you guys suggest?
  25. I went Legacy, only cause there is no sperate Outback
