Does the A-Line use 5x100 or 5x114 wheel bolt spacing? I've got a set of old 5x100 ones in TGA that I could possibly get to Rotorua reasonably quickly as we're doing heaps of work over there right now.

    Hi andy mac,

    its 5x114 unfortunately.

    Hi grip,

i was measuring my stock ones and they are similar on size and same (5x114) however my rear disc seems to be bit smaller than the front so the disc that i got with the brembos are more likely for fronts

  2. 7 hours ago, Gripless said:

You may have some rear discs.

look inside them for scuff marks from the handbrake drum pads.

Thanks grip. I think it might have been a rear disc, what should be the size of the front disc? So would you say i need to get another set of front disc?

  3. 3 minutes ago, Gripless said:

Did you not get the matching discs?

I’m assuming you are swapping fronts only as brembo brakes have a handbrake drum setup at the rear.

    hi grip.

yep just the front and i do have the discs that came with the brembos.

Tried my stock and the discs came with it . Same issue even it has the same size pattern and bolt pattern

  4. Hi boon,

thank you for the responses, please forgive me as im a newb and not sure with parts name etc.

So without the rotors the brembos perfectly bolt in. But when the rotors are IN that piece which is encircled wont go in as its to thick comparing to the stock one. Im not sure with the difference between the backing plates but as per videos that i have seen on youtube.. it was just pretty much straightforward taking out and putting in new caliper To a “WRX” v11, which i would say has the same set up as mine.

  5. Hi,

Hopefully someone can shed me some light regarding this issue. So i have a sti v11(a-line) and just got a good deal on these brembos(came off the same version) Long story short it wont fit not because its not going into the bolts but because of the thickness of the calipers’s bracket comparing to my stock one.

So it does just pretty much cant go bolt in as its too thick.

thank you for any help or info.

  6. Hi omsin,

it was from moonlight racing, i think they the only one can supply invidia here in nz. Its a bit of a wait too been waiting for approx a month now 😂 . Unless buying straight from aus, which i think will be more expensive and maybe have to pay any custom tax. NZKW offers lesser price, was thinking to get either the straight or their quad before because the price of the invidia are like doubled from their prices, if i went to that route i will have an exhaust and a tune already but theres not much reviews or vid about their exhaust and at the same time was digging in the r400 even before so might as well save more and get what you really want.

Dont get me wrong it sounds great, it just wont pass a wof with a catless downpipe unless you add another resonator. The resonators on the R400 are tiny and don't do much. The Q300 is the same exhaust but with larger resonators just before the tips

Thanks man! , so would you say it will be fine for wo without the catless? Like just running it with stock dp and all?  Was digging with the Q3 too tbh but lot of reviews that r400 is in between Q3 and the N1 so i went to that.. only few vids of the r400 really and having an AT haven’t had any chance hearing it in this kind of car.

if it's your first ever mod it can be daunting & yep $200 sounds about right for 1/4 hours work LOL (ok maybe half an hour to an Hour as I bet they like to tidy up the illumination & wirings a bit better than I do)

have you bought New, as in did it come with a kit / vac line and a "T" etc?

is the line good quality or can you crush it with your fingers (like my Aliexpress Boostgauge LOL / not lol)

first you need to find a weak spot in the fire wall, a grommet or rubber boot you can push the line though towards the Intake Manifold

now I'm not familiar with anything newer than 98 so yeah bear that in mind here (someone else may pop along shortly with pictures)

"t" into a line going into or out of the intake mani & run that back to where ever your going to mount your gauge, mounting in itself is another wee drama, are you going to make holes in your dash? / steering wheel mount or in front of your cluster? I think Pillar mounts are awesome btw :P

black wire ground, yellow will be 'acc' blue? Might be illumination ie when you turn your lights on the face lights up, oh and a red for +ve / always on maybe

bit hard to guess without knowing a bit more about what you got, did it come with instructions?

I am a bit of a joker so some info vauge on purpose as I know I'll get corrected by someone here who's done it more than the 2x I have i reality LOL

being a newer car I'd like to think you'd prefer a neat & pro install too, so might just be worth paying for this time

    Hi joker,

thank you for your response (hands down for a very well info’d response.)

i bought a new one (auto gauge, one with stepper) it does comes with everything and all the information in regards of the installation. Yes i do want a neat and nicely done, just a bit paranoid because i believe on this versions they are a bit sensitive to everything its kinda one hit delete i reckon🤣. Im not that really on the electronic side so i just dont want to mess this things up. Haha

Depends on what gauge you get but i’d say  1-1.5. It's a nice easy mod to do yourself really.

Can be a bit time-consuming feeding wires through the firewall if you don't know where to look which is probably why they want so much.

Thank you  andy for the response,

Its an (auto gauge brand) and brand new. Just dont know where to feed the wires really haha like where to hook it in.

  9. Hi fellas,

was just wondering from 1-5 rating how hard to install a boost gauge in v11’s or in any versions of the sti? I went to one sparkys and reckon will cost like 200? Didnt really trust how he explains it but yeah. I do want to figure it on my own but if it would be a cheap options to go in a sparkys why not..

    Thank you..

here ya go. cold start on the car. hks exhaust, pbms downpipe, hks intake (tho not sure if that makes change to this cold start idle sound).

haven't yet figured out a nice way to mount camera in there (mounted on the roof scoop bare metal thing in old car) for cool in car POV driving recording, so for now a brief description : after it's warmed up it's a really nice sound, cold starts can be a bit loud (but i do think its kinda cool). once warmed up , cruising around at normal speeds in I or S, you know it's there but it's not over powering anything. in s# with the change in map (might just be cos mines tuned as haven't driven in this configuration while stock), you're pretty much always under boost so it's a bit louder but still not annoyingly loud. turns heads, but still sounds nice in car. i found myself turning down the music and driving a gear lower than usual just cos i loved the sound that much lol. not droney at any point at all regardless of mode/throttle position so that's an added bonus.

Wow, didnt realize hks would provide that sound(i guess i have to have the complete set up😬). Thanks bro for the nice input and from the time that you gave just to be in “detail” with your system. I definetly think about this as hks is easy to get too

    here in nz.

    cheersp

Invidia downpipe and Q300 catback exhaust sounded sick on my car:

Best of both worlds IMO. Not insanely loud, just right. When you're on it, sounds fabulous.

Damn...🤤 thanks niran, will save this in my option box.. did you get it

    from Moonlight?

  12. Hi,

I would probably say sorry first if someone had already made a thread similar like to this if so please do lead me and i will delete this post😬.

i have a grb auto sti and would love to see some of the exhaust that you rockin in your v11’s manual or auto. Its hard to choose especially when you dont have an idea yet on what it would sound like in the car. I kinda want to support our local company here which is nzkw but the r400 invidia is definetly something to think about. Hope someone out there can share some inputs or any other brand is welcome to be shared too i am just looking what would be best for bucks and my car. Single or quad exhaust, anything.😃

    thank you.

  15. Hi tune gurus,(noob alert)

Was just wondering how much usually to have a tune? Can anyone recommend a place here in north island pref around bay of plenty?

And in regards of tune I’ve seen a thread somewhere that its more better to have your car street tune instead of the normal dyno ones?

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thanks
