  1. I'm planning on buying second hand lowering springs, so I'm looking for the best (cheapest) place to go to get them fitted (with wheel alignment) in Chch. So far Mag and Turbo have given me the best price, although it's still more than I was hoping to spend. Any suggestions? Cheers
  2. Haha I thought so too, taking it back to him this wk
  3. Sway bar D bushes have already been re-greased as mentioned above but the noise is still there. Wouldn't have a clue as to what bushes they are. Will get them all checked over just to be sure
  4. Sweet as, thanks for the reply. Was expecting it to be something more serious than that Will get them checked out tomorrow
  5. Nah just standard shocks and springs. It's a ts-r
  6. I've been hearing an annoying creaking noise from the front of my Legacy when going over bumps - speed bumps, driveways and other bumps in the road. Had the mechanic look at it but didn't notice the noise even after taking it for 2 drives. He removed and re-lubed sway bar d bushes, but it hasn't made any difference. Made a quick vid this morning going over some speed bumps: Any ideas on where this might be coming from? Cheers
  7. Thought I would post in here rather than make a new thread Would like to give my 95 TSR the subie rumble without spending too much on a full exhaust system. Don't want it to be too loud either. What would one of these be like? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Performance/Exhaust/auction-269792509.htm Cheers
  8. Cheers for the reply Just went and had a look and took it for a test drive. Everything seems to be pretty good - interior is in really good condition, has been well looked after. No ticking noises, gearbox was quiet, and heard no odd noises from the engine. Clutch felt pretty heavy but I haven't driven a turbo subaru before so have nothing to compare to. Anyone on here know a good subaru mechanic to get it checked out by? I was thinking about taking it to crowe sport here in chch
  9. Cheers, it has a WOF and Reg. It is already lowered on 17" wheels and has an aftermarket exhaust. Problem is under 25 + turbo + subaru + modified, not looking good for insurance. Would any insurance company cover me for third party, fire and theft? Haven't had any luck so far
  10. Hey, I'm new here and I'm looking at buying a '92 Legacy GT wagon (1st gen facelift ). It will be my first car, although I'm 18 and have been driving for a few years. It has done just under 200000 k's and doesn't look too bad cosmetically. I will be viewing the car in the next couple of days and since I'm not the most mechanically minded person, what should I look out for when buying a legacy? If I can't see any real problems with it I'll get it checked over by a subaru specialist before buying, but I would rather hold onto my $200 if I could spot any problems with it myself. Any advice would be much appreciated Cheers
