Yea i got there about 7pm. Was pretty clear a lot of people thought that it was going to be canned, it was a quiet night for them from what i was told. I did four runs between 7:30 and 8:45.

  2. okay, should I be changing the oil every 5000kms tho? It seems a bit too much for my car.
Ultimately the decision is yours. You could have the quality of the oil in the sump, inspected for particles etc. That would tell you straight away if you need to do it more regularly than you are at the moment.

  3. My car done 140000kms and im wondering how often to do an oil change and what oil.
My mate swears that I must change it every 5000kms and use 10w40 (either 10w40 or 5w40) and NOT fully synthetic oil (for older Subarus with more kms). What do others think I should be putting in her?
Also, will supercheap oil filter be all good?
Think of it like this, which is more expensive? Spending a bit more on quality oil and a genuine filters or rebuilding a motor? Big end bearing or ringland failure can be caused by a couple of things but properly protecting your engine is the best way to prevent it from happening. Regular service are a must for any turbo motor.

  4. are you saying it did connect on the initial run and not after that? when was last time you know of that you were able to communicate with it? 100% sure all the right cables are being used? if all else fails could pull it out open up and double check for things like dry joints, re solder then test again.
I'm assuming It did because they did a run and told me the timing was quite out. It was last dyno'd in 2010 when it was installed but since then turbo and the dump pipe has been changed since then so that makes sense why it's out.

sounds almost like they don't like tuning microtech and are trying to sell you a link, but that's my 2c
Mmmm I dunno about that but going Link is going to be a big improvement. The Microtek is a bit simple from what I understand.

  5. Hi team

My V4 is currently in Possume Bourne Motorsport for a health check and dyno run. Since the initial run they have not been able to communicate with the Microtech ECU, they have tried multiple dongles and laptops with no luck.

Has anyone else had an issue like this? The ECU was purchased in 2010 so isn't that old but now i'm looking at having to replace the ECU with a Link G4. Which isn't all that bad, just curious to hear if this has happened to anyone else.

    Cheers

  6. ps : managed to rescue a couple of the PB pictures in that thread

here's the first (and best) one
So it's deemed best to have two seperator catch cans for each line?

What about a catch can with two in ports?

Buy the setup Tony has for sale. That will work for serious track work on slicks.
Cheers can I get a link? The classified section is coming up empty?

  7. Hi team

Pretty keen to hear what you guys have done when installing catch cans to stop blow by.

Has anyone dropped big coin on the Perrin or Grimspeed units or is the universal cans the way to go?

    Cheers
